On June 1, Niutoudian Central Kindergarten in Zhenping County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province welcomed some "big friends". Accompanied by them, the children had an unforgettable "Children's Day". At the same time, the third Shell "Sunshine Children's Park" jointly built by Shell China and Beijing Western Sunshine Rural Development Foundation was officially completed in Beijing.

Wang Jianghong, Shell's China social investment manager, said that since the first Sunshine Children's Park was completed in 2019, Shell has entered the third year of supporting rural education. This year, the garden just opened on the day of Children's Day. I hope this special gift of Children's Day can create real value for children.

"Previously, we built two new energy 'Sunshine Children's Park' in Longxian County and Nanzheng County of Shaanxi Province, which is specially designed and developed for preschool children in remote areas and can give children a space to play," said Wang Jianghong.

It is reported that the design and construction of the Children's Fun Park all use environmentally friendly materials, and 300 solar roof tiles have been added to realize clean power supply, so that the Children's Fun House can operate completely independently, and the surplus electricity can also be supplied to the whole school.

Wang Jianghong said that this year Shell put forward a new business strategy of "enabling progress", and Shell China's "shell energy public welfare" series projects are a strong echo of this business. "In addition to educational support, Shell Energy Public Welfare mainly covers energy improvement, entrepreneurship empowerment, and traffic safety. On the one hand, it fully combines its own business advantages to make the projects implemented more effective; on the other hand, we prefer sustained investment and efforts, and most social investment projects are long-term." He said.

When talking about how to select public welfare partners, Wang Jianghong said that the first priority is the vision and focus of partners, and the second is the stability of partners' personnel. "Only by maintaining a certain degree of stability can we continue to accumulate experience and make the project more efficient." He said

As for future development, Wang Jianghong said that Shell China has made a new plan since last year. From the perspective of investment scale and action mode, we hope to drive everyone to "empower progress" and "empower life" together to make greater influence.

"Since 2010, the country has launched and implemented a series of major projects, focusing on supporting the development of rural preschool education in the central and western regions. Therefore, we have cooperated with enterprises with a sense of social responsibility such as Shell to bring 'Sunshine Children's Fun House' and rich preschool education resources to more rural areas." said Wang Lihui, secretary-general of Beijing Western Sunshine Rural Development Foundation.

It is understood that in addition to the "Sunshine Children's Fun Park", Shell China has also supported and launched the third "Green Sunflower Tutor Plan", "Companion and Assistance" and other projects of the Western Sunshine Foundation, to continue to help cultivate local teacher resources and comprehensively care for the growth of children.
