Recently, with the consent of the provincial government, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued the Special Plan for High Standard Farmland Construction in Fujian Province (2021-2030).

The plan proposes that, in accordance with the six basic principles of "tamping the foundation, ensuring the production capacity, adjusting measures to local conditions, comprehensive treatment, centralized and integrated promotion, green development, ecological priority, legal management, good farmland and grain use, government leadership and diversified participation", we should focus on farmland protection and land improvement, and fully promote the construction of high standard farmland. According to the planning requirements, from 2021 to 2025, the province will build 3 million mu of high standard farmland, upgrade 1.04 million mu, and increase 450000 mu of efficient water-saving irrigation; From 2026 to 2030, 1.1 million mu will be newly built, 1.06 million mu will be upgraded, and 330000 mu will be added for efficient water-saving irrigation.

The planning puts forward seven standards for high standard farmland construction, including farmland, drainage, drainage, irrigation, roads, farmland protection and ecological environment conservation, and building levels; The construction contents of 7 aspects were clarified, including land leveling, soil improvement, construction of irrigation and drainage facilities, construction of field roads, improvement of farmland protection and ecological environment maintenance system, supporting farmland power transmission and distribution facilities, and strengthening scientific and technological services.
