Beijing, Science and Technology Daily, May 23 (correspondent Zhao Qiang and reporter Liu Yuanyuan) The reporter learned on the 23rd that the subject of "Theoretical and technical evaluation of coal gas resources coordinated mining in Taigemiao mining area, Xinjie", which was carried out by the scientific research team of Wuhan Design Institute of China Coal Science and Engineering Group (hereinafter referred to as "China Coal Science"), has successfully completed acceptance recently. The scientific research team has deepened the collaborative development of coal and natural gas in the "no man's land" for the first time in China, filling the gap in the field of collaborative mining of coal and natural gas in integrated coalfields in China.

Located in the Ordos Basin, the Xinjie Taigemiao mining area in Inner Mongolia is a typical representative of the superposition of coal and natural gas resources.

"In the Xinjietaigemiao mining area, natural gas wells and pipelines are densely distributed, covering a large amount of coal resources, bringing major safety hazards to coal mining. Similarly, the goaf formed by coal mining has led to difficulties in natural gas drilling and limited development, and coal mining disturbance has affected the safety of existing natural gas wells and surface facilities and equipment." Xin Delin, president of Wisdom Mining Institute of Wuhan Design Institute of China Coal Science, said that there are many problems in the coordinated exploitation of natural gas and coal resources, such as difficulty in coordination, high exploitation cost, excessive resource waste, and large potential safety hazards. No in-depth research has been carried out in this field at home and abroad.

After two years of scientific research, the scientific research team of China Coal Technology Wuhan Design Institute has provided theoretical support, technical methods and special programs for the collaborative development of coal and natural gas.

The scientific research team proposed to centrally plan the natural gas wellhead and pipeline on the ground into a strip of "natural gas development corridor" to realize the coordinated development of coal and natural gas. They analyzed the spatial relationship of profiles under different gas development well types, and built a "gas development corridor" system that can meet the overall development requirements of coal gas overlapping areas. On this basis, the scientific research team put forward a plan for the coordinated and safe development of coal and gas from the perspective of comprehensively ensuring the high recovery rate of the two resources.

To realize the coordinated exploitation of coal and natural gas, a large number of engineering and technical problems need to be overcome. "Once the natural gas well leads to the confined aquifer above and below the coal mining layer, or the natural gas reservoir, the coal mine will face a major safety accident." Zhao Qiang, a member of the scientific research team, gave an example. For this reason, the scientific research team proposed a three-dimensional whole well section plugging system for abandoned natural gas wells and carried out industrial tests through research visits, theoretical research and a large number of calculations to find solutions to the engineering technical problems.
