People's Daily Online, Beijing, May 22 (Reporter Liu Yingying) 2024 is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, and also the "Year of Sino Russian Culture". On May 21, the art exhibition celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia and the "Sino Russian Cultural Year" opened in the National Culture Palace in Beijing.

This exhibition aims to promote friendly exchanges between the two peoples in the form of art dialogue. The Chinese side will exhibit the outstanding works of Wang Qinsheng, member of the Painting Academy of the Central Museum of Culture and History, and vice director of the Wu Guanzhong Art Research Center of Tsinghua University. The Russian side will exhibit the artists who won the title of Russian People's Artist Excellent works by YeVirginia Romarshenko, Vice President of the Russian Artists Association, and other artists.

Calligraphy and painting art is an important cultural symbol and an important link to enhance the friendship between the Chinese and Russian people. In cultural exchanges, Wang Qinsheng also observed modern and ancient Western art. In 2005, Wang Qinsheng began to follow the path of artistic innovation of his teacher, Mr. Wu Guanzhong, to find his own entry point for the integration of China and the West. He reinterpreted the famous Chinese classical landscape paintings with the color language of oil paintings, and explored the connection and transformation between tradition and modernity. In this exhibition, most of Wang Qinsheng's exhibited works are new works over the years, which are more characteristic of modern Chinese landscapes. Evginia Romarshenko is an outstanding representative of the Russian Academy, and a supporter of realism and the aesthetics of nature painting.

The celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia and the holding of the "China Russia Cultural Year" art exhibition not only reflects the mutual learning and respect of the civilizations of the two countries, but also adds a beautiful touch to the picture of the "Belt and Road" initiative.
