According to the official website of the World Wrestling Federation, Deng Zhiwei of China won a seat in the men's freestyle 125 kg Olympic wrestling event at the world qualification event of the Paris Olympic Games in Istanbul, Turkey, on the 11th local time.

The World Qualification Competition is the last stage of the allocation of Olympic seats in wrestling. The top two athletes in the competition will win a place for their respective national or regional Olympic Committees. The two bronze medal winners of each minor event will play an extra match to compete for the last ticket to the Olympic Games.

In the men's freestyle 125kg semi-final, 36 year old Deng Zhiwei defeated Venezuela's Diaz Roberty 4-0, winning the first Olympic ticket for Chinese men's freestyle wrestling.

At present, the Chinese wrestling team has received nine tickets for the Paris Olympic Games. On the 12th, the Chinese team is expected to compete for the Olympic seats in the men's freestyle 57kg and 97kg categories.
