According to the organizing committee, the podium of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games was designed by the logo designer of the Olympic Games, Ye Laochao Xiong. It combines the "city organizing pine grain" element of the logo of the Tokyo Olympic Games, reflecting the traditional Japanese design concept. At the same time, all the podiums are made of waste plastic collected, which is the first attempt to use recycled plastic to make podiums in the history of the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, aiming to spread the concept of sustainable development of human society to the world.

The music of the award ceremony was composed by Naoki Sato, a famous Japanese composer. The Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Mixed Choir performed live. Sato Naoki said that his top priority when composing music was the mood of athletes when they went to the podium.
