Compared with previous years, this year's vocational education week has more abundant activities. At the launch ceremony of the in-service education week in Shandong, four themes of information technology, intelligent manufacturing, advanced equipment and AI empowerment were brilliant. The activity combines key industries and industries in key fields to set up vocational education exhibition experience projects, which are open to the public, so as to enhance the understanding and cognition of primary and secondary school students on vocational education.

Improve the Training Level of Skilled Talents by "Hardware" Construction

Dai Dongchen, a graduate of Qingdao Electronic School, shared his learning experience as a representative of outstanding graduates at the launch ceremony of in-service education week in Shandong. From a secondary vocational school student to a doctoral student, Dai Dongchen achieved "counter attack" in 12 years. Such experience has also moved and inspired more young students.

After the 2012 middle school entrance examination, Dai Dongchen entered Qingdao Electronic School. In 2015, Dai Dongchen was admitted to Shandong University of Science and Technology, majoring in mechanical and electronic engineering, and realized his undergraduate dream through the college entrance examination for vocational education. In September 2020, Dai Dongchen was admitted to Changchun Institute of Optics, Precision Mechanics and Physics, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and became a master of mechanical and electronic engineering. During his postgraduate study, he participated in major special research with his tutor and successfully completed his own professional research. After that, Dai Dongchen was successfully admitted as a doctoral candidate in artificial intelligence of Harbin Engineering University, realizing the "triple jump" from a secondary vocational school student to a doctoral candidate.

Like Dai Dongchen, many students in vocational colleges have realized their dreams through vocational education. Vocational education, guided by the demand for skilled talents, focuses on the cultivation of highly skilled talents, benchmarking the construction of modern industrial system, especially the requirements of new industrialization, and grasping the five key elements that restrict the quality of highly skilled talents cultivation - "gold majors", "gold courses", "gold textbooks", "gold teachers", and "gold practical training", Pry the major reform of vocational education and constantly improve the level of highly skilled personnel training.

Vocational education is no longer the traditional impression

In April 2024, the Ministry of Education announced the record and approval results of specialty setting of higher vocational education in 2024. Compared with 2023, 6068 specialty points were added and 5052 were withdrawn. At present, there are 19 major categories, 97 major categories and 1394 major categories in the professional catalog of vocational education, covering all industries in the national economy.

In December 2022, the Opinions on Deepening the Construction and Reform of Modern Vocational Education System was printed and issued, proposing the major deployment of "One Body and Two Wings" for vocational education. For more than a year, the "One Body and Two Wings" has built a framework for the construction of modern vocational education system, and has gathered the strength of politics, industry, enterprises and schools. The integration of vocational education, industry and education, from concept to practice, has found a real starting point. Now, the institutional mechanism of industry education integration is more perfect, innovative cooperation models are emerging, the ability to serve economic and social development is significantly enhanced, and the pattern of positive interaction and mutual promotion between vocational education and industrial development is gradually forming.
