More than 200 pieces (sets) of arts and crafts works appeared in the "Craftsmanship of Items - Fujian Traditional Crafts Exhibition"

People's Daily Online, Beijing, August 31 - The "Craftsmanship of Materials - Fujian Traditional Crafts Exhibition" co sponsored by the National Museum of China and the Propaganda Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China opened in the National Museum on August 30.

Fujian traditional arts and crafts are the epitome of Fujian traditional culture. This exhibition is based on the cultural relics in the collection of Fujian Museum, supplemented by the cultural relics in the collection of the National Museum of China. At the same time, it also brings together more than ten works recently created by Fujian contemporary arts and crafts artists, which are colorful. The exhibition is divided into five units, namely, "Artistic Charm", "Exquisite Craftsmanship", "Thousands of Cultures", "Shiyimingzhi", and "Oriental Charm". It systematically presents more than 200 pieces (sets) of arts and crafts works of different categories in different periods, fully demonstrates the cultural heritage and rich connotation of Fujian's traditional crafts, and expresses the common style of the Chinese nation, It also contains rich regional characteristics of Fujian, exudes profound artistic charm, and has high aesthetic value.

The first unit, "Artistic Charm and Various Forms", mainly displays the colorful Fujian folk arts and crafts through ancient and modern daily life appliances and folk articles. Beautiful and vivid gold lacquer wood carvings, funny puppets, humorous wood carvings, lifelike stone carvings, exquisite and vivid paper cuts, and colorful and smart She embroidery all reflect the artist's meticulous observation of life. Jianyao black porcelain with colorful light, pure and elegant Dehua white porcelain, exquisite wood carvings, gorgeous and magnificent lacquerware, etc. reflect the artist's pursuit of the ultimate craft and thinking of artistic expression.

Unit 2 "Exquisite craftsmanship" mainly shows the characteristics of carving techniques in different regions and materials in Fujian by showing wood carvings, bamboo carvings and other craft works. For example, longan wood carvings are good at following shape and simplicity, Putian wood carvings are famous for fine openwork, cork paintings are famous for their density and complexity, and green bamboo carvings are characterized by their delicacy.

Unit 3 "Thousands of Cultures and Wanhua" mainly shows various lacquer making techniques in Fuzhou through lacquer ware. Fuzhou lacquer technology has a complete set of unique means of expression and production system, many of which, such as modeling technology, color painting means, decorative techniques, and polishing technology, still represent the highest level of lacquer art in the world today.

The fourth unit, "Shi Yiming Zhi", mainly displays Shoushan stone carving technology through Shoushan stone seals, decorations, etc. In the Qing Dynasty, various carving techniques became more and more mature, forming two major schools of carving techniques, namely the East Gate and the West Gate. Many famous artists emerged in large numbers, laying an excellent foundation for the development of Shoushan stone carving art. A large number of fine works have been handed down to this day.

Unit 5 "Oriental Charm" mainly shows Dehua white porcelain production technology and cultural influence through the Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern Dehua white porcelain. At the end of this unit, a series of works of art with the spirit of the new era created by modern and contemporary Fujian artists show the magnificent and magnificent side of Fujian's traditional crafts and demonstrate cultural self-confidence.

The exhibition is located in Hall 2, South of the National Museum, and is expected to last for two months.
