The organizers of "National Popular Happy Ice and Snow Week" don't think so.

This is the third time this year that this mass ice and snow activity was specially held in summer. This year's slogan is "Happy snow and ice, cool summer", so that the public can experience snow and ice sports in summer, understand snow and ice sports, and let winter sports enter the four seasons. How is this contrast compatible?

In fact, indoor ice rinks are not uncommon in big cities, many of which rely on large supermarkets to gather a lot of popularity. Former ice celebrities such as Yang Yang and Chen Lu set up ice clubs in Shanghai, Shenzhen and other southern cities, attracting many young people. Compared with ice rinks, the number of indoor ski resorts with more challenging scale and operation has also increased in recent years, with more than 30 open nationwide. Moving indoors, ice and snow sports become "all-weather sports". In this Happy Ice and Snow Week, 49 ice and snow stadiums in 24 provinces, autonomous regions and cities signed up to participate in the "National Open Ice and Snow Class", and invested resources such as venues to provide teaching and training opportunities for ice and snow sports enthusiasts.

In addition, roller skating, land curling, land hockey and other sports are also the "summer version" of ice and snow sports. The facilities of these sports events are relatively simple and can be used as an entry level form of ice and snow sports. Promoting these sports events becomes an effective way to expand the population of ice and snow sports and enrich the content of the Happy Ice and Snow Week.

With the help of VR (virtual reality), 3D and other high-tech means, ice and snow sports fans can experience the feeling of flying on the "snow track". This kind of live experience will bring more immersive fun to the Ice and Snow Week in summer, and make ice and snow sports no longer the patent of winter and the north.

Breaking through the limitations of seasons and regions, the travel of ice and snow sports in time and space can not be separated from the promotion of the vision of the Beijing Winter Olympics to "drive 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports".
