From July 21 to 23, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping will go to Tibet to investigate and study, go deep into rural and urban farmhouses, temples and business streets, etc., investigate ecological environment protection, urban development planning, rural revitalization, ethnic religion, Tibetan culture inheritance and protection, and put forward ardent advice on the development of Tibet in the new era.

Recently, the People's Daily Online reporter set out from Linzhi City, following the footsteps of General Secretary Xi Jinping's investigation, paid a return visit all the way to see the beauty of ecological protection in Tibet, appreciate the vitality of Tibetan culture, and feel the construction boom surging everywhere on the vast plateau.

From July 21 to 23, 2021, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, came to Tibet to congratulate on the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet, and to visit cadres and people of all ethnic groups in Tibet. Ecological protection realizes a virtuous circle

At the noon of July 21, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed on the inspection of Nyang River Bridge in Nyingchi that we should adhere to the priority of protection, adhere to the integrated protection and systematic management of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass, sand and ice, strengthen the protection and restoration of the ecological environment of important river basins, coordinate the rational development, utilization and protection of water resources, and safeguard the life, vegetation, water and mountains here.

In May, Tibet ushered in the best season of the year.

Under the scorching sun, the ice and snow melt quietly, and the trickle gradually converges towards the Yarlung Zangbo River in a heroic manner. The dense water vapor nourishes the beautiful scenery of Yani National Wetland Park. The ecological environment here is of good quality and rich in biodiversity.

"We will patrol from time to time every day to see if the infrastructure has been damaged and if there are new animals. The General Secretary attaches great importance to Linzhi, and we are very confident to protect this wetland." The keeper of Yani National Wetland Park chases Ciren with a smile.

In the past year, Linzhi has continuously promoted the ecological protection and construction of Yani National Wetland Park to a new level.

In January this year, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration approved the construction project of Yani Wetland Ecosystem Positioning Observation Station.

"We will further strengthen the protection of the wetland park, protect the wetland park and its surrounding ecosystem as a whole, promote the ecological protection and economic development into a virtuous circle, and realize the harmonious coexistence of man and nature." said Ciren Zhuoma, director of Yani National Wetland Management Center in Bayi District, Linzhi City.

People living on the plateau seem to be more passionate about green.

In the morning, when the first beam of sunshine fell on Potala, the north and south mountains of Lhasa became lively. Amid the pleasant sound of bells, a special "work team" - the caravan appeared.

This year, Lhasa implemented a large-scale greening project for the North South Mountains. The mountain is high and steep, and there is no way for vehicles to reach it directly. The caravan has become the "vanguard", carrying the green hope up the mountain.

The North South Mountain is an important ecological background in Lhasa, which plays an important role in water conservation, water and soil conservation, and regional ecological security. As early as 2015, Lhasa has implemented the "green siege" project, laying the foundation for the greening of the North South Mountains this year.

"Lhasa has really turned green, and I believe it will become more and more green." In 2017, Lv Qiang from Lhasa Holy Land Garden Project Department participated in the construction of "green siege" in Lhasa. In his impression, the mountains in the north and south were once bare, and it was almost impossible for barren mountains to turn green.

"At that time, looking at the bare stones all over the mountain, I was a little desperate. How could live trees be planted here?" Lv Qiang sighed. It never occurred to anyone that the "Foolish Old Men" of Tibet, with their faith of "planting, greening and living", had accomplished this.

Green painting, everywhere scenery. "The climate in Lhasa is getting better and better. There were no trees on the mountains around before, but now it's green in summer and the air is humid, which is very comfortable." Bianba, who has lived in Lhasa for most of his life, said with a smile.

Five years to green mountains and rivers, ten years to green Lhasa.

"According to the plan, by 2030, the implementation of the greening project of the South and North Mountains in Lhasa will greatly improve the ecological environment around Lhasa and enhance the regional forest ecological service function. The project can add about 49.8 million tons of water storage, 229100 tons of carbon fixation, 19300 tons of oxygen release, 27100 tons of fertilizer conservation, and the annual ecological value of 1.485 billion yuan. At the same time, it will also drive the people to increase their income, enhance their sense of gain and happiness, and will certainly achieve ecological benefits, economic benefits and social benefits. " Hu Zhiguang, Deputy Director of Lhasa North South Mountain Afforestation Headquarters Office (Deputy Director of the District Forestry and Grass Bureau), introduced.

The wetland is beautiful, the mountain is green, and the water is clean. Gladandong, located in Naqu City, is the source of "one river of clear water" flowing into the Yangtze River. In 2021, the Department of Ecological Environment of the Tibet Autonomous Region, together with many departments, carried out a special survey on the ecological environment of the source area of the Yangtze River in Gladandong for the first time in combination with the characteristics of dry, wet and equal water periods.

"This survey has really opened up the 'last kilometer' of the source of the Yangtze River, filled the gap in the ecological environment monitoring of Gladandong, laid a data foundation for the ecological environment protection and restoration of the source of the Yangtze River, provided an important background value reference for the ecological environment quality assessment of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and supported the systematic protection of the entire Yangtze River basin and the high quality of the economy and society Development is of great practical significance. " Jia Xiaohua, director of the Ecological Environment Monitoring Center of the Tibet Autonomous Region, said, "From the survey results, the ecological environment quality of the source area of the Yangtze River in Gladandong is good, the biological species are rich and diverse, and the overall ecological quality is very healthy."

Featured tourism enters the fast lane

On the afternoon of July 21, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Gala Village, located in Linzhi Town, Bayi District, Linzhi City, listened to the introduction of Gala Village, which played a leading role in party building, led the people to increase income and become rich, and improved the level of grass-roots governance. He went to the village convenience service center, "green bank" exchange shop, health room, etc. to learn about the situation in detail.

It is famous for the wild peach blossom in spring. The annual Peach Blossom Festival has attracted a large number of tourists and opened up income generating channels for local villagers.

Villager Dawa Jianshen warmly welcomed the General Secretary to his home. "Since the General Secretary came here, nothing has been placed at home, because many tourists have followed the steps of the General Secretary to visit my home, and I feel very proud." He said with a smile.

Also proud are all the villagers of Gala Village.

"This year, the income of the Peach Blossom Festival alone has reached more than 1.07 million yuan," said Nima Duoji, director of the Gala Village Committee.

In the next five years, Linzhi City aims to achieve double-digit growth in reception capacity and tourism revenue. Extend the tourist routes, create hundreds of different types of characteristic tourist villages, and meet the needs of more tourists. It is also planned to develop smart tourism with the help of new technologies, so as to make tourism big data "run".

"After the opening of the Lalin Railway, my sister and I came here to work. The fruits grown in our village and the matsutake picked in the mountains have also been sold out, and the business is good. Last year, the family income increased by 20000 yuan." Luo Bu, a member of the Luoba nationality who lives in Linzhi Milin County, told reporters.

From the valley in southern Tibet to the plateau in northern Tibet, thanks to better ecology, rural tourism in Tibet has entered the fast lane. Under the background of late start of tourism and few resources, Duoshuoka Village, Chaqu Township, Naqu City, for example, has broken the previous single cultural sightseeing tourism by constantly exploring new tourism formats. By developing health and leisure tourism, it has driven more than 50 people to find jobs and truly achieved industrial prosperity.

At the foot of Mount Everest, Duoji, a villager in Basong Village, runs a hotel.

"In the past, my family made some money by opening a canteen. Later, when I saw the peak tourist season, many tourists would be distressed because they had no place to live, so I had the idea of opening a hotel." Duoji told reporters, "Now there are about 30 hotels and B&Bs in our village, large and small, and the quality is also higher than before. Tourist satisfaction is very high, and everyone's income has increased a lot.

In the past year, Tibet has constantly improved the level of tourism industry development, focused on optimizing the tourism development environment, and actively created high-quality tourism on the plateau. While promoting the sustainable development of eco-tourism in Tibet, it has cultivated an important channel for people to increase their income and become rich, an important platform for foreign exchange and cooperation, and an important area to attract investment.

"Taking Lhasa as an example, an industrial system with six supporting elements of 'travel, tourism, housing, food, shopping and entertainment' has been initially formed. The leading role has been growing, and its position in the overall economic and social development has become increasingly important. Its role in promoting Tibet's leapfrog development, long-term stability and stability has become increasingly prominent, and its contribution to promoting the construction of a harmonious socialist society has become increasingly obvious " Wang Xiaodong, spokesman of the Tourism Development Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region, said, "In 2021, the region will receive 41.5344 million domestic and foreign tourists, up 18.5% year on year, and achieve a total tourism revenue of 44.19 billion yuan, up 20.6% year on year."

Against the background of sporadic outbreaks of the epidemic throughout the country and a significant decline in the number of tourists from outside the region, Tibet has helped enterprises in difficulty in the field of tourism services to overcome difficulties and resume development by promoting the policy of "winter tourism to Tibet" and organizing "local tourism"; At the same time, in order to further stimulate consumption, the internal circulation of high-quality tourism is used to promote the accelerated development of the "internal circulation of Tibet's tourism economy" and help Tibet move steadily towards the goal of world tourism destination.

Traditional culture has new vitality

In the afternoon of July 22, 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping walked to inspect the style and features of Bakuo Street in Lhasa, walked into the specialty commodity store, and asked about the development of tourism and cultural innovation industry, inheritance and protection of Tibetan culture, etc.

It is a must to punch in at Sunshine City and Baguo Ancient City. It can be said that the ancient city of Bakuo is a "cultural card" of Lhasa and even Tibet.

Zhuoma, who has operated a store for more than 10 years in the ancient city of Bakuo, will never forget the scene when the General Secretary walked into the store last year. "The general secretary asked me about the fabric, clothing and business of the store." After a year, she was still excited. "This year, we have more styles of Tibetan clothing, and the fabric has also improved a lot."

Tibetan clothing is a history worn on the body. With the development of the times, it is constantly changing and innovating.

"After the general secretary went to the Tibetan clothing store, there was another upsurge of wearing Tibetan clothing, which shows that people love traditional culture, and many local brands making Tibetan clothing have also grown up like mushrooms," said Li Mei, president of the Tibetan National Clothing Culture Research Institute.

Gao Furui is the manager of a Tibetan clothing brand. In 2016, he founded a minority clothing experience store in Lhasa. Based on the principle of inheritance before innovation, through the form of national costume experience, we will contribute to the spread of Tibetan costume culture.

"The popularity of the current national style shows that our national confidence is getting stronger and stronger, and I hope to carry forward the Tibetan clothing culture," said Gao Furui.

How to make Tibetan costumes "out of the circle" again?

"We should let more individuals or enterprises participate in the design and research and development of Tibetan clothing, innovate boldly in ideas, and make use of trends and scientific and technological means in specific production. Of course, we should also adhere to the priority of protection and pay attention to rational utilization." Li Mei said, "In the future, we will carry out corresponding work in the innovation of traditional Tibetan clothing, brand building, innovation of clothing exhibition mode by using scientific and technological means, improvement of local industrial chain, etc., so as to make excellent traditional culture glow with the glory of the times."

In the afternoon, strolling along the streets of Baguo, an apprentice was absorbed in painting when he inadvertently walked into a Thangka shop. In a corner of downtown Pian'an, the quietness here is in sharp contrast to the bustle outside.

In Bakuo Street, there are many Thangka stores like this. Thangka, known as "Tibetan Encyclopedia", has a history of thousands of years.

Silang Quda is the vice president of Tibet Tangka City Painting Academy. He has studied Tangka for more than 20 years. He has his own views on the promotion and inheritance of traditional culture. "I think that only by mastering the basic theory, can we talk about innovation. The public also needs to be guided, so that the two can collide and spark."

There are many inheritors like Silang Quda. Pu Buzidan, director of the General Survey and Protection Department of the Mass Art Museum of the Tibet Autonomous Region (Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center), said, "The most important thing to do well in the protection of traditional culture is to train inheritors, give play to the leading role of the older generation, and strengthen echelon construction. Tibet now has 96 national level inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and 522 district level inheritors of intangible cultural heritage. Inspired by the General Secretary, more young people have volunteered to learn traditional skills, and the 'intangible cultural heritage' team is radiating new vitality. I think this is a manifestation of cultural self-confidence, and also a strong proof that the country and the autonomous region attach importance to the protection of traditional culture. "

In the twilight, Ah Gui, who has been busy all day, put down his work and looked out of the office window at the street gradually recovering peace, couldn't help sighing: Baguo Street is becoming more and more beautiful.

After 10 years of working in the management committee of Bakuo Ancient City in Lhasa, Ah Gui witnessed the development of the ancient city from countless dawns to dusk. In the past 10 years, the ancient city of Baguo has undergone two major renovations. "When you come to the ancient city, what you want is the original flavor and unique characteristics, so we must 'repair the old as the old', otherwise we cannot keep the cultural context. You see, every brick laid in the ancient city is specially customized and integrated with the surrounding buildings."

Time flows, time changes. The ancient city is the carrier of culture, and the ancient city of Baguo is the epitome of Tibetan cultural heritage protection.

How can cultural heritage coexist with modern urban civilization?

"The ancient city is so large, but more and more people come here, which poses a challenge to our work. We should make good use of the resources of the ancient city, and at the same time, we should focus on protection, not destroy the original characteristics." Agui said.

Ah Gui's work book is full of things to do, one of which is how to make the ancient city "live". "Millions of people come here and go out from here every day. We should embrace the world with a more open attitude, so that the national culture can spread to a greater distance. What we can do is to try our best to let everyone come and return with joy."

From history to the future, the ancient city of Baguo is radiating new vitality.

Tibet insists on giving priority to ecology, taking green as the basis, constantly promotes tourism development, and unlocks the cultural "password" in the process of inheritance and innovation. Children of all ethnic groups have worked together to deliver high-quality development answers. (Li Haixia)
