Is B-ultrasound necessary in early pregnancy?
(2013-05-31 17:40:33)
This issue has not been settled yet. In Japan, pregnant women should be examined by B ultrasound every month; In Europe and the United States, the number of B-ultrasound examinations during the whole pregnancy does not exceed 4, mainly because it is not clear whether B-ultrasound really has no impact on the fetus. However, at least one B-scan should be performed during early pregnancy, because B-scan can help diagnose early pregnancy and check the expected date of delivery, and can detect twin pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy and hydatidiform mole as soon as possible. For early pregnancies with vaginal bleeding, B-ultrasound is more valuable and can help to differentiate and diagnose: intrauterine pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, threatened abortion and inevitable abortion, which has a high guiding significance for clinical practice.
