#Food standard clean-up # The results of food standard clean-up in China began to seek public opinions

(2013-08-01 17:17:34)

The three-year food standard cleaning work organized by the National Health and Family Planning Commission will start from now on, and the results of the cleaning work will be open to the public for comments. Here is a detailed explanation of the whole work.

      1. Why should food standards be cleaned up?

Before the promulgation and implementation of the Food Safety Law, there were a large number of food related standards in China, including national standards There are more than 2000 items, more than 2900 industrial standards and more than 1200 local standards. For more than 30 years, the ministries and commissions of quality inspection, agriculture, health and commerce have successively issued There are 5000 national and industrial food standards, which have played a huge role in China's food safety assurance. However, restricted by the development level of the food industry, risk assessment ability and other factors, some food standards have some prominent problems, such as the contradiction, overlapping and repetition of the standard content, the lack of some important standards or important indicators, and the scientificity and rationality of some standards need to be improved, which has brought many unnecessary difficulties to the implementation of enterprises and law enforcement by regulatory authorities. (See Weibo on February 4, 2013, and China Food Safety News: Standard cleaning lays a "foundation" for China's food safety http://www.cfsn.cn/shoujibao/20130131/news_4_1.htm

      2. When did you start cleaning?

From January 21 to 22, 2013, the Ministry of Health held a meeting on the cleaning of food standards in Beijing to comprehensively start the cleaning of food standards. (See microblog on January 31, 2013, and the website of the Health and Family Planning Commission: "The Ministry of Health launched a comprehensive cleaning of food standards" http://www.moh.gov.cn/sps/s3594/201301/2a7aee0ddeba488cba21adb7 ae382471.shtml Note: The link in Weibo at that time was the link to the original website of the Ministry of Health, which is now invalid, and the editor is trying to change it to a valid link)

      3. Who is responsible for the cleaning work?

The National Health and Family Planning Commission (the former Ministry of Health) organized the work and established a leading group and expert technical group for food standard cleaning. The leader of the leading group was Chen Xiaohong, the deputy director of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (the former deputy minister of the Ministry of Health), and the leader of the expert technical group was Wang Zhutian, a researcher from the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center. The expert technical group is composed of 148 authoritative experts in relevant fields from relevant departments such as agriculture, quality inspection, health and commerce, scientific research institutions and industry associations, and consists of eight working groups, including product group, food additive group, food related product group, production and operation specification group, physical and chemical inspection method group, microbiological inspection method group, special dietary food group, toxicological evaluation procedure group, etc, Work is carried out by disciplines.

      4. When will the cleaning work be completed?

The current nearly 5000 quality and safety standards, food hygiene standards, food quality standards and mandatory implementation of industrial standards for edible agricultural products are included in the scope of clean-up work. The standard clean-up will be completed by the end of 2013, and the standard integration will be completed by the end of 2015.

      5. How does the cleaning work work?

The plan of the official document is very long. In short, in the answer to question 3, we can see that there are eight working groups that have cleaned up the standards in their respective business areas, and the cleaning results are also made by the working groups. Then solicit opinions on the results of the clean-up openly from the whole society, and then the working group will deal with the clean-up opinions and report them to the leading group for approval. Finally, it will put forward suggestions on the formulation and revision of national food safety standards, determine the establishment of national food safety standards, and start the formulation and revision of national food safety standards. (See the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Health on Printing and Distributing the Work Plan for Cleaning Food Standards" for details http://www.moh.gov.cn/sps/s3594/201210/fc63695b7417477eac341507 854f8525.shtml

      6. How can we know the cleaning progress in time?

Website of National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center( http://www.chinafoodsafety.net )A special column on food standard cleaning has been set up, and an official microblog of "food safety standards" has been set up on Sina website. The information and progress of food standard cleaning will be published in a timely manner, and all parties in the society are welcome to participate actively and offer suggestions. (See microblog on January 31, February 18, February 28, May 6, June 17, and June 21, 2013, and the website of the Health and Family Planning Commission: "The Ministry of Health launched a comprehensive clean-up of food standards" http://www.moh.gov.cn/sps/s3594/201301/2a7aee0ddeba488cba21adb7 ae382471.shtml Note: The link in Weibo at that time was the link to the original website of the Ministry of Health, which is now invalid, and the editor is trying to change it to a valid link)
