From May 24 to 28, 1987, the first academic conference on andrology in Chinese history was held in Hunan Yuanling Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Male Diseases, the first hospital specializing in male diseases in China.

At this meeting, the first andrology academic group in China, the National Andrology Professional Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was established.

123 scholars from 24 provinces and cities across the country conducted academic discussions on "male infertility", "sexual dysfunction" and other male diseases.

A total of 102 papers were received at the meeting, and 30 excellent papers were rated by experts on the spot.

Through discussion, the experts at the meeting formulated the diagnostic and therapeutic criteria for male infertility, and put forward the idea of TCM diagnosis and treatment of male diseases.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Yuanling Andrology Conference, the founding members of the National Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine Andrology decided to hold a seminar.

Seven of the 18 members of the National Professional Committee of Andrology of Traditional Chinese Medicine who founded the Committee have died, more than one third of them.

In order to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Yuanling andrology conference, highlight the meritorious deeds of the founder of traditional Chinese medicine andrology, remember the pioneering and innovative spirit of andrology predecessors, and encourage later andrology people to continue to carry forward.

The founding members of the seminar were invited to participate in the seminar to talk about their 35 years of hard work and achievements in the field of traditional Chinese medicine andrology.
