The netizen also put forward two suggestions: first, use the existing resources to build the Fangzhuang regional library to give the elderly and young people a learning space. Secondly, it is suggested that Fangzhuang Sports Park should be reconstructed according to the standards of Dongcheng Longtan Zhonghu Park, build standard plastic runways and improve mass sports facilities.

Fangzhuang Street, Fengtai District, expressed its gratitude to the netizen for his concern and pertinent suggestions on the urban renewal work of Fangzhuang Street, and replied to the above two suggestions one by one:

First, it is about using existing resources to build regional libraries. Since 2023, it has updated and built Fangzhuang Art Center (Yifang Bookstore), Xiaoyao Bookstore and other urban renewal projects by using existing space resources, with a total collection of more than 20000 books. The quality of the space is high, which can meet the reading needs of the elderly and young people in a certain way; In the next step, with the in-depth promotion of urban renewal, we will actively adopt suggestions, respond to the reading needs of all age people, use the stock space resources, repair and embed more reading and learning spaces, and create a strong atmosphere of Fangzhuang bookish.

Second, regarding the construction of plastic runways in Fangzhuang Sports Park, the street is actively planning with relevant units to improve the renewal plan of Fangzhuang Sports Park. The plan will actively respond to the needs of surrounding communities for all age sports venues, complement the shortcomings of runways, stadiums and other short boards, and learn from the experience of excellent cases at home and abroad to promote the design of the plan with high standards to better meet the needs of mass sports. The sub district is making overall plans to promote the regional comprehensive urban renewal, establishing Beijing Fangzhuang Urban Renewal Alliance, simultaneously preparing the block control plan and special urban renewal plan, and planning to reserve urban renewal projects. In this process, the street adheres to the principle of consultation, construction and sharing, encourages residents to participate in the urban renewal of Fangzhuang, and actively responds to the demands of the masses. Next, the street welcomes more residents to give advice and suggestions, supervise the urban renewal work of Fangzhuang, and jointly create a warmer and better Fangzhuang.

At the just concluded Beijing Two Sessions, the work report of the Beijing Municipal Government mentioned the need to deepen urban renewal action. Actively explore new modes and paths of social capital participation, and promote the integrated transformation and upgrading of ground, ground and underground space.

It is difficult to coordinate the renewal of large old communities, balance funds and introduce industrial resources... How to solve many problems in urban renewal? Fangzhuang Street is the first large-scale residential area in Beijing after the reform and opening up. After nearly 40 years of development, it faces the problems of aging population, aging facilities, insufficient functions, and blocked governance. It is a typical representative of many similar middle-aged residential areas. In recent years, the street system has planned to promote "mass renewal", prepared block control plans and special urban renewal plans at the same time, and implemented residential, facility, industrial and public space renewal projects as a whole. Regional comprehensive renewal has achieved regional visualization results. For example, recently in the preparation of the special plan for urban renewal, we systematically sorted out the appeal content of residents who have received complaints in the past three years, carried out regional distribution and high-frequency word analysis, realized the precise spatial location of the top ten types of appeals, proposed precise solutions, and achieved "planning response, first action without complaint".

Zhang Xiaodong said that in 2024, Fangzhuang Street will accelerate urban renewal: first, prepare and complete the block control plan and special urban renewal plan, create the city's first special urban renewal plan at the street level, fully promote the design and implementation of a number of landmark projects, such as the second phase of the Vitality Center and Fangzhuang Sports Park, and comprehensively update from point to area to create a boutique street. Second, we will more fully mobilize diverse subjects such as party organizations at all levels, enterprises and institutions, and residents to make urban renewal a popular project with public participation and residents' recognition. With the theme of "elegant village, warm life" as the renewal theme, we will make every effort to build Beijing's first regional comprehensive urban renewal demonstration area.
