In recent years, Miyun District, as the most important water source protection area in the capital, as well as the regional ecological governance cooperation area and the national ecological civilization pilot demonstration area, bears the political responsibility of guarding Miyun Reservoir and green water and green mountains, always pays attention to synchronously promoting high-quality development and high-level protection, and gives full play to the greatest advantages of good mountains, good water and good ecology, Efforts have been made to transform the value of ecological products contained in green waters and green mountains into golden mountains and silver mountains, so that the good ecological environment has become the supporting point for green high-quality development.

Miyun District Government, together with the ecological environment departments of Chengde City, Zhangjiakou City, Huairou District and Yanqing District, signed the key points for promoting the collaborative work of ecological environment protection in the upper reaches of Miyun Reservoir.

Miyun's good ecological environment cannot be separated from the "priceless treasure" of Miyun Reservoir. Miyun District insists on taking water conservation and protection as the top priority, and uses the highest standards and strictest measures to constantly improve the all-round and systematic water conservation work system and mechanism, so as to provide Miyun experience for the protection of large-scale water sources nationwide. On the basis of fully implementing the requirements of "upstream water conservation, forest protection, reservoir area water conservation, water conservation by law, and water conservation by policy" proposed by the municipal party committee, Miyun District joined the working mechanism of "water conservation by science and technology, and water conservation by the whole people" in combination with the new situation of water conservation, forming a new pattern of "5+2" water conservation. Miyun Reservoir has achieved both water volume and water quality improvement.
