M25
The XM25/M25 is a combination of the 10th Special Forces Group and the Navy Seals in the late 1980sM14 automatic rifleIt is developed for basic improvement.
In 1991, the US military named the new M14 M25.
brief introduction
The M25 retains many features of M14, all of which are NM class barrel M14 equipped with Macmillan's glass fiber and improved air guide device, but the M25 uses Brookfield instead of Leatherwood sight base, and uses Leupold's sight. The new sight base also allows the use of AN/PVS-4 night vision sight. The earliest XM25 rifle has a steel pad inside the butt, which allows the shooter to remove or reinstall the barrel on the butt without resetting the sight glass. Its design intent is similar to that of the precision butt produced by H&S for M24SWS.However, the newly finalized M2 eliminates the steel pad and uses the McMillan M3A butt. The 10SFG staff and OPS staff also jointly designed a muffler for the M25, so that the rifle can still maintain high shooting accuracy after installing the muffler.
M25 is not used to replace the equipped rotary back pull gunSniper rifle, but as a support weapon for snipers. The special forces believe that the M25 is better than the M16/M203 combination as the observation and aiming weapon for the sniper team, because it can accurately shoot targets 500 meters away. In addition, the M25 can also be used as a sniper rifle for urban warfare.[3]
