In 1995, China officially joined the IDF and became a full member of the organization.
IDF holds an annual meeting every year and a world dairy conference every four years.
In September 2002, at the World Dairy Conference held in Paris, France, China formally applied to the IDF General Secretariat to host the 2006 World Dairy Conference and Annual Conference.
On September 9, 2003, at the IDF Council, the National Committee of China, after a series of statements and explanations, voted unanimously to hold the 2006 IDF Annual Conference and the 27th World Dairy Conference in Shanghai, China.
From October 15 to 18, 2018, the International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit with the theme of "New Generation Dairy" was held in Daejeon, South Korea. Yili Group attended the meeting and shared the Chinese experience of building a "new generation dairy industry" at the meeting. [1]
