EQUIS requires a preliminary investigation, followed by formal application, qualification research, self-assessment, international expert review, certification award, and guidance when necessary. In a word, in the certification process, the certified higher management education institution shall first conduct a self-evaluation or review. The purpose of self-assessment is to help the accredited institutions have a clearer understanding of their strategic position. SWOT The analysis can be used to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the MBA program provided by each institution, the opportunities and challenges arising from the internal and external environment, and the balance between the purpose (mission statement) and resources of the MBA program. Then the European and American higher management education certification system organizes a review team to assess the certification qualification. The review team usually includes international scholars, MBA project managers and business people. The review team shall make a field visit to the evaluated institution to understand the actual situation. After visiting the evaluated institution, the review team will draw up a report and put forward their suggestions.
