Lushu No.4

Sweet potato varieties selected by Jining Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Province
The original code 79-259 of Lushu No. 4 was bred through sexual cross between Fengshu No. 1, a female parent, and 52-45, a male parent by the Agricultural Research Institute of Jining City, Shandong Province. Shuisuo Zhongding named it Qining No. 21. In May 1989, it was approved by the Shandong Crop Variety Approval Committee and named Lushu No. 4
From 1981 to 1988, Jining Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the city's counties and districts conducted multi-point demonstration tests, with an average yield of 2769.2 kilograms of fresh tea per mu, 32.5 cages more than the control Xu Xue 18. From 1986 to 1987, he participated in the joint regional test of new sweet potato varieties in Shandong Province. The average yield of spring potato per mu in the two years' regional test was 2665.6 kg. Compared with the control, the yield of dry potato per mu increased by only 21.0 gas. The yield of dry potato per mu replaced that of dry potato by 817.0 kg, increasing by only 3%. The yield of summer potato per mu was 2254.5 kg, increasing by 24.0% compared with that of Xushu 18, and the yield of dry potato per mu was 50.4 kg, increasing by 6.9 ".
Characteristics The top leaf of this variety is green, the leaf color is thick green, the vein and vein stem are purple, the leaf is thick and lifted up, the leaf stalk is 19.0 cm long, the stem color is green with purple, the vine is 0.6 cm thick, the longest vine is 140.0-150.0 cm, generally 70.0-80 shorter than Xushu 18 [1]

From 1986 to 1987, the regional test of new sweet potato varieties in Shandong Province showed that the average yield of spring potatoes was 2611.5kg, which was 20.9% higher than the control variety Xushu 18; The unit yield of dried potato was 808.6 kg, which was 6.1% higher than that of the control variety Xushu 18. The yield of summer tubers per unit area of fresh tubers was 2250.9 kg, 22.4% more than that of the control variety Xushu 18; The output of dried potato was 583.6 kg, 6.1% more than that of the control variety Xushu 18. In 1988, the production test of new sweet potato varieties in Shandong Province showed that the average yield of spring potatoes was 2078.3 kg of fresh potatoes and 683.5 kg of dried potatoes, which were 17.6% and 7.9% higher than the control variety Xushu 18, respectively; The average yield of summer potatoes is 1608.8 kg of fresh potatoes and 488.5 kg of dried potatoes, respectively 14.9% and 3.8% higher than that of the control variety Xushu 18. Key points of cultivation

This variety is not tolerant to barren soil and should be planted on land with medium or higher fertility. When planting, appropriate amount of nitrogen fertilizer and more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied. Due to the general germination rate, the seeding density should be slightly higher when raising seedlings. Due to the thick and short stems and vines, the density should be increased appropriately when planting, and about 5000 plants are appropriate. It can be planted in spring and summer, and the yield increase is greater in summer. [2]

application prospect

Lushu 4 is suitable for planting in Shandong, Jiangsu and other root rot disease areas under the conditions of medium and high fertilizer and water, and can still be used in production. [2]
