brick building

In 1972, the Hong Kong Polytechnic was officially established. Under the leadership of Muxia, the architect of Palmer&Turner Architecture Building, the team adopted a unique red brick architectural design in the first phase of the campus development plan. The design refers to the red brick architectural style of traditional British and American universities, and many buildings are built on the platform, thus creating a multi-purpose covered outdoor space. Red brick is still a visual symbol of PolyU even though it has experienced several campus expansion projects [167]
