Behind the Scenes

Announce
edit
  • When the script of the film was first written, the main characters originally belonged to Yang Caini and Wu Qilong [3]
  • Xu Ziqi's role as an undercover policewoman is quite complicated. She is a homosexual and later became pregnant with Ah Jie. It was thought that she would swap roles with Lu Qiaoyin, but this arrangement is more interesting. Xu Ziqi, who had to be 17 years old to shoot this film, tried many things that can be done by adults in the play, such as being a bad wife, having children from unmarried, etc. This very effective role is very challenging for her.
  • The film was originally conceived for the fourth episode of True Hero, but the released version has been changed eleven or two times.
  • For Nicholas Tse, it is difficult to play the role of father rather than the role of the bodyguard who plays the old boy. Because there is no similar experience in reality, we need to watch TV to figure out the role [3]
  • Because there will no longer be a role as close to his own as in Down the River and Down the Current, Wu Bai pushed off the invitation to perform in more than 30 films after acting in this film. [4]

Film evaluation

Announce
edit
Downstream and Downstream is probably such a product with clear advantages and disadvantages, but for this stylized gunfight film, everyone has both praise and criticism. If you only watch the first ten minutes, the audience will think that it is Wong Kar wai's film. At first, the lines were parodies of the work of God in the Bible to create the world. Because of the need, there was light, water, people, and the story of literature and art. The story was a series of stories triggered by the bartender Nicholas Tse drinking to meet girls. This film is very rare. Except Nicholas Tse and Huang Qiusheng, the captain of the bodyguard, the other main actors Wu Bai, Gong Shunliang and Lu Qiaoyin are all in the music circle. Although they often guest star in some Hong Kong films, it is rare for such heavy scenes. The joining of these actors brings a strange and fresh temperament to the film. The sense of "playing with tickets" of these characters also makes the shooting theme of the film less popular in Hong Kong films, and together with Nicholas Tse, they form a feeling of leaping fashion in the city. In 2000, the mainstream gunfight game was CS, and the concept of battle team was similar to that of the 21st century. The film brings this sense of play into full play. When all the action movies around the world are explosive scenes, the movie shows what it means to use terrain and walk to turn the wheel against the wind in a one to many way. It seems simple, but it is a rare and thoughtful action design for gunfight [7] (surging news review)
