Overview of scientific research
Lu Zhiwei has long been committed to the research of experimental psychology, systematic psychology, educational psychology, social psychology, Binet test and other psychological workersWork.[4]
Lu Zhiwei's research in the field of linguistics involves phonology and grammar. In the 1930s, he was committed to evaluating, revising and supplementing Gao's medieval sound theory, referring to Chinese dialects and foreign translations, using modern mathematical linguistics methods, based on statistical probability relations, analyzing and studying the collected materials, and elaborating and proving the sound categories of Guangyun. To study the Book of Songs with the method of probability and statistics, and then to study the ancient phonology.Another Study on the Phonetics of Ancient MandarinEtc.[4]
Lu Zhiwei is also committed to the study of Chinese vocabulary and grammar. The "homomorphic substitution method" proposed by Lu Zhiwei defines "monosyllabic words", and then classifies them into nine categories: nouns, change words, adjectives, demonstrative pronouns, auxiliary nouns, adverbs, action words, function words, miscellaneous words, and their accessories.By using the self-developed "expansion method" to distinguish words and phrases in polysyllabic structures, Chinese grammar research can break away from the traditional practice of "meaning", "language sense", "intuition", and make grammar research more scientific.[4]
Academic treatise
From 1946 to 1948, Lu Zhiwei published 9 papers on the sound history of ancient official discourse in Yanjing Journal, such as "explaining the rhyme of Central Plains" and "recording Emperor Shao Yong's' heavenly voice and earthly sound '"etc. His main works include "Ancient Voice", "Turbid Initial of Chinese", "Poetry Rhythm", "Shuowen Jiezi", "Reading Ruoyin", "Nine Essays on the History of Ancient Mandarin Speech", and "Four Characters in Chinese".[1]
