A Bao, formerly known as Zhang Shaochun, was born on February 27, 1969 in Shanxi ProvinceDatong CityYungang District[30], male singer from mainland China.
A Bao was born in the suburb of Datong, Shanxi[9]Influenced by local folk customs, he has loved folk songs since childhood.He sang solo for the first time when he was 4 years old.When he was in middle school, he was always the representative of the literature and art class in his class. When he was 12 years old, he was admitted to the art school with excellent results, but finally he was replaced by someone else. This event greatly stimulated his childhood, and his character became withdrawn and introverted.At the age of 15, A Bao ran away from home and came to Beijing alone to apply for the Central Conservatory of Music. However, because he was too young, he didn't accept him. When he graduated from high school, A Bao decided to give up his college entrance exam and start his career as a street singer because he couldn't bear to part with his favorite folk songs[9]。
Because of his poor family, Po was unable to enter professional colleges for formal training. He did not know any vocal music skills, nor did he have a teacher to guide him. But with his love for music, he opened his voice and sang again and again in front of the empty mountains every day[10]。Later, he participated in many singing competitions, but was eliminated in the first stage[3]。
Po went to various places with the troupes and troupes to perform, and soon became a pillar.In the 1990s, he began to sing in concert halls and bars. In such a fashionable place, he was very popular for singing homegrown folk songs.During his wandering days, Po consciously collected folk songs and tunes in the countryside.He often sang with folk artists in the farmyard. He sat cross legged on the kang head of others and sang for half a day.These authentic folk songs and ballads have given Po a lot of artistic inspiration and nourishment.And his working years in the city also mixed some elements of fashion music into his folk songs[9]。
In 2004, he participated in the "Western Folk Song Competition" of CCTV and won the bronze medal, thus officially entering the performing arts circle[1]；In August, he participated in the "Peach Blossom, Red Apricot and White Apricot · Three Jin and Three Gao Concert" held in Beijing;In October, participated in CCTV singing program《Avenue of Stars》Won the monthly championship in the first month after four rounds of competition[10]。
In March 2005, he launched his first personal music album《Po》, including《To drive away animal spirits》《Red Flowers Blossom》10 songs including[2]；In October, he won the championship of the annual finals of the "Avenue of Stars" with the song "Dandan Blooms Red"[3]。
In January 2006, he participated in the Spring Festival Gala of CCTV andWu Yanze、Dai YuqiangChoral song《The rising and setting sun on the grassland》[4]；In February, the second personal music album, "Want to be close to your heart", was launched, including《Zouxikou》11 songs including "Love You Hard to Open in My Heart";In July, he went to Singapore to participate in the "Third China Singapore Song Festival"[11]。
