In July 2019,National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of ChinaReply to the Feasibility Study Report of Puyang Jinan Section of the New Zhengzhou Jinan Railway, in which there are railway stations in Jinan[4]；On August 8, the site selection of Changqing Station was announced[5]。

In October 2023, the main body of Changqing Station building will be completed[10]；On December 8, Changqing Station was put into operation[14]。
The design inspiration of the station building of Changqing Station comes from the "Qi Great Wall", water culture and tea culture of Changqing.The fa ç ade of the station building adopts the image of "beacon tower", and the roof adopts a multi-layer overlapping setback structure, echoing the ripples of water and the stepped characteristics of tea mountain.This design concept conveys the concept of "the source of the Great Wall, clear water and clear river"[6]。
