In August 2020, the main structure of the new terminal building of Changzhi Wangcun Airport will be completed[12]。
On September 19, 2021, the new terminal of Changzhi Wangcun Airport will be put into trial operation[10]；On October 21, the new terminal of Changzhi Wangcun Airport was officially opened[15], the old terminal is closed synchronously[19]。

The terminal building is divided into two floors, the first floor is the arrival and departure hall, and the second floor is the waiting hall[15]7 boarding bridges, 9 check-in counters and 6 security inspection channels are set to meet the demand of 1.5 million passengers per year and 520 passengers per hour at peak times[9][14]。
