Basic lead carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula 2PbCOthree·Pb(OH)twoIt is a white powder, insoluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in carbon dioxide aqueous solution, soluble in acetic acid, nitric acid and caustic soda solution. It is mainly used as a white pigment in the production of raw paint, antirust paint and outdoor paint, and is also a raw material for ceramic glaze, painting paint and cosmetics.
