Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Molecular Recognition and Imaging was approved by Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology in 2014 and built by Dalian University of Technology. The current laboratory director is Professor Jia Lingyun.

Liaoning Key Laboratory of Molecular Recognition and Imaging is supported by the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Life of Dalian University of Technology. There are 37 fixed personnel, 15 professors, 17 associate professors and senior engineers, and 6 lecturers. Among them, there is one winner of the Outstanding Youth Fund, two winners of the Outstanding Youth Fund, five winners of the New Century Excellent Talents Fund of the Ministry of Education, one winner of the Outstanding Young Teachers Funding Program of the Ministry of Education, and three winners of the Hundred Thousand Talents Project of Liaoning Province. The above researchers have presided over 5 "973" projects, 4 "863" projects, 5 national key fund projects, and more than 70 general projects and youth fund projects in the field of "molecular recognition and imaging" related to our laboratory in the past five years. In this field, it has won one second prize of the National Natural Science Award, one second prize of the National Scientific and Technological Invention Award, two industrialization projects, and a number of provincial and ministerial awards.
In recent years, the Liaoning Key Laboratory of Molecular Recognition and Imaging, in combination with the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the "973" project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the "863" and other research projects, has focused on the important national needs of China's existing tumor detection technology and fluorescent detection labeling reagents, which mainly rely on imports and urgently need to prepare new sensitive materials, A new idea for the research of tumor marker targeting sites was proposed, the platform technology for the research and development of tumor marker targeting molecules and imaging reagents was developed, and a new method for the creation of fluorescent imaging bioactive dyes was established.
