Liaoning Advanced Polymer Materials Engineering Laboratory was established in September 2013, relying on the National First level Key Discipline of Chemical Engineering and Technology of Dalian University of Technology, the National Key Laboratory of Fine Chemical Industry, and the Liaoning Key Laboratory of Polymer Science and Engineering. The Department of Polymer Materials of Dalian University of Technology, founded in 1953, is the first synthetic rubber specialty established in colleges and universities in China. The specialty of polymer materials and engineering is a national characteristic construction specialty. The Department of Polymer Materials has always adhered to the principle of giving priority to engineering and attaching equal importance to science and engineering, attached importance to applied basic research, strengthened the organic combination of polymer science and other disciplines, formed an excellent scientific research tradition and professional characteristics, and formed a complete system supporting teaching, scientific research and production. Based on the research and development of advanced polymer materials and engineering research, and by means of distinctive new methods and technologies of polymer synthesis, it focuses on solving key, basic and common scientific and technological problems in the field of polymer materials science and engineering, and cultivating and bringing up a number of high-quality and high-level innovative professionals and technical backbones, Lead and support scientific innovation and industrial development in the field of polymer material science and engineering in China. Liaoning Advanced Polymer Materials Engineering Laboratory has carried out scientific research on high-performance synthetic resin, synthetic rubber, special functional polymer and other fields closely related to the petroleum and petrochemical industry in Liaoning Province, focusing on high-performance synthetic rubber and elastomer, high-performance high-temperature resistant engineering plastics Engineering research on carbon dioxide based polymer materials, special functional polymer materials, and advanced polymer matrix composites. The engineering laboratory will focus on developing and cultivating a batch of relevant research achievements in the field of advanced polymer materials with high social and economic benefits, solve and break through the key common technologies urgently needed for industrial technological progress and structural adjustment in this field, and gradually build a demonstration project base of "production, learning, research and use", It is an important measure to seek greater development in China, especially in the old industrial base in Northeast China, and form a platform to undertake research and development, transformation and industrialization of scientific research achievements of major national scientific and technological projects.

Liaoning Advanced Polymer Materials Engineering Laboratory has 39 researchers, including; Researchers include 16 professors, 12 associate professors, 3 senior engineers, 5 doctoral lecturers and 3 engineers; Among them, there are one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one young and middle-aged expert with outstanding national contributions, three winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, five winners of the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education, and one member of the Polymer Materials and Engineering Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education.

Liaoning Advanced Polymer Materials Engineering Laboratory not only has a complete experimental research platform, but also has an engineering test base for synthetic rubber and synthetic resin. It has more than 20 sets of professional large, precise and valuable instruments, such as Hack Rheometer Laboratory System, Gel Permeation Chromatograph, Thermogravimetric Analyzer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, etc. It has complete advanced polymer material structure testing and performance testing equipment, which provides good conditions for scientific research and new product development, and has the ability to undertake major scientific and technological research and engineering. It has successfully completed more than 200 national key scientific and technological research projects, 863 major projects, 973 projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects, National Torch Plan projects, innovation fund projects, national sub projects, national defense and military industry supporting projects, national revitalization of the old industrial base in the northeast, major industrialization projects in Liaoning Province, and enterprise and public trust projects. More than 40 invention patents have been authorized, and more than 20 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological awards, including the second prize of the 2003 National Technological Invention Award and the second prize of the 2011 National Technological Invention Award, have been awarded.
