It was first recorded in 1078 and was founded in 1231.Publishing industry center.The industry includes metal processing, wood processing, machinery manufacturing, textile, paper making and other sectors.Many medieval architectural monuments.It has a university (founded in 1477), an observatory, and a number of scientific research institutions.
