Main research directions and objectives: expression of visual information and brain mapping of visual system The main research objectives are summarized as "P3" plan: P1: Form a common research plan (Project): Focus on the fundamental issues of contemporary perception research What is the basic expression of perceptual information P2: Build a common platform for experimental environment : The experimental environment of brain and cognitive science with brain functional imaging method as the core, from molecular genetics, cell physiology, functional imaging to psychological behavior across a wide range of disciplines P3 The realization of the plan will be closely combined with the basic research of clinical medicine. In the next five years, special attention will be paid to the basic research of the "P3" program and (1) the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive dysfunction (such as Alzheimer's); (2) Diagnosis and treatment of eye and visual system diseases; (3) The combination of basic clinical medical issues such as preoperative brain design and postoperative evaluation.

The laboratory is based on the basic research of brain and cognitive science, and carries out interdisciplinary research in related fields. The main research goal is to "form a common research plan around the research direction, build a common experimental environment platform, and create new principles". Since the establishment of the laboratory, hundreds of papers have been published on journals included in SCI and SSCI. Among them, the "large scale first" topological property perception theory proposed by our laboratory was introduced and discussed by Visual Cognition (2005) in the form of an album; A series of studies on the cognitive mechanism of drosophila as a model organism were published in Nature (2006) and Science (2005, 2005, 2007), and were introduced by the authoritative journal Cell in the column Leading Edge as the headline of neurobiology. In addition, research on frog's acoustic communication mechanism( Nature , 2006), Research on the characteristics of human visual cortex( Nature Neuroscience , 2007), Research on the difference between left and right brain perception of topological properties( PNAS , 2007, PNAS magazine invited S He made a special article review), and the research on the visual nerve circuit( Nature Neuroscience , 2008).
