Cell swelling or water denaturation is a common mild cell change. The organ with cell swelling is increasing in size, with tight capsule, light color, turbid and lusterless, section bulge, and edge valgus. According to the characteristics of pathological changes under microscope, it can be divided into granular degeneration and vacuolar degeneration. It is common in the parenchyma cells of heart, liver and kidney.
