In 1904, the predecessor of Zhangqiu StationMingshui Stationto be finished[1-2]；In 2008,Jiaozhouwan Jinan Passenger Dedicated LineAfter completion, Zhangqiu Station has realized the separation of passenger and freight and restored the passenger transport function[3]；On October 11, 2019, the construction and reconstruction of Zhangqiu Station began and the operation was suspended[4]；On July 1, 2020, Zhangqiu Station will resume operation[5]。
By July 2020, the total construction area of Zhangqiu Station is 95000 square meters[6]；As of 2008, the platform scale of Zhangqiu Station is 2 sets and 5 lines[3]。
On July 1, 2009, Zhangqiu Station opened passenger transport business, and the original Mingshui Station was officially closed[3]。
On December 27, 2017, the commencement ceremony of Zhangqiu Station renovation and upgrading project was held[3]。
In the early morning of January 10, 2019, the lifting of steel structure overpass was completed in the reconstruction project of Zhangqiu Station[8]。On October 11, Zhangqiu Station was closed for construction and reconstruction, and trains passing by were no longer stopped[9]。
On July 1, 2020, Zhangqiu Station will complete the reconstruction project and open to traffic.[5]

Design concept
The modeling concept of Zhangqiu Station originates from the shape of "ink spring surging" in Zhangqiu. The central arched station hall reflects the image of gushing spring. The "arched" shape also means that Zhangqiu Station is the gateway to Zhangqiu from the five lakes and the west sea. The two wings of the station slowly expand and rise, showing the rapid development of Zhangqiu[4]。
The interior decoration of Zhangqiu Station continues the streamline style of appearance and injects water ripple into it.The top of the hall adopts a double curved water ripple shaped top surface, creating a solemn and atmospheric effect.The whole station building is organically blended with Zhangqiu spring culture, showing a different Zhangqiu characteristic.[10]

Design parameters
As of July 2020, Zhangqiu Station covers a total area of 95000 square meters, with 8260 square meters of station buildings and 30500 square meters of commercial supporting buildings;As of November 2019, Zhangqiu Station has 98000 square meters of green area, 580 square meters of underpass, 730 square meters of new passenger overpass, and 11900 square meters of platform pavement[6][11]。

The station building of Zhangqiu Station is divided into two floors, the first floor is in the direction of Qingdao, and the second floor is in the direction of Jinan.Passengers to Qingdao and Jinan can wait at different levels.In addition, there is a business supporting area on the second floor[4]。
