From March 5 to 9, 2009, a group of 12 people led by Academician Gao Song of Peking University and Academician Chai Zhifang of the Institute of High Energy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences came to Nanjing University to conduct an on-site evaluation of the State Key Laboratory of Modern Coordination Chemistry and the Key Laboratory of Bioanalytical Chemistry of the Ministry of Education. Zhang Rong, Vice President of Nanjing University, attended the evaluation meeting and expressed heartfelt thanks to the expert group for coming to guide the work of key laboratories. Heads of relevant departments of the university and all staff of key laboratories attended the evaluation meeting. Professor Guo Zijian, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Modern Coordination Chemistry, and Academician Chen Hongyuan, Director of the Key Laboratory of Life Analysis Chemistry of the Ministry of Education, respectively made work summaries from 2004 to 2008 on behalf of the two key laboratories, reported the construction and development of the laboratory to the expert group, and answered the on-site questions of the members of the expert group. Subsequently, the expert group also listened to the representative achievement report made by the academic leader of the key laboratory, carried out on-site inspection of the key laboratory, reviewed its evaluation materials, and interviewed some personnel of the laboratory. Through the comprehensive examination and evaluation of the construction of key laboratories, the expert group initially formed the evaluation opinions, and gave oral feedback to all laboratory personnel and the person in charge of the supporting unit. The Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China has entrusted the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) with the evaluation of key laboratories in the chemical field in 2009. There will be 22 key laboratories in the chemical field to be evaluated.

Since 1991, the laboratory has undertaken 3 national climbing plans, 3 national key basic development plans (973), 2 national high-tech research and development plans (863), 5 major projects, 8 key projects, 89 general fund projects and 15 horizontal projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. More than 2050 academic papers have been published, including more than 1500 SCI papers, 4 monographs, more than 30 patents, 2 appraisal results and 1 technology transfer. The synthesis and structure of related complexes won two second prizes and one third prize of the National Natural Science Award, four first prizes and two second prizes of the National Science and Technology Natural Science Award nominated by the Ministry of Education, one first prize, five second prizes and two third prizes of the National Education Commission for scientific and technological progress, one first prize, five second prizes and two third prizes of the provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress award, and three national excellent teaching material awards, One Basic Research Report Award of the Asian Chemical Society, and one Science and Technology Progress Award of He Liang and He Li. In 1994, it was evaluated as a Class A laboratory by the State Education Commission, and in 1995, it was entrusted by the State Planning Commission and the Science and Technology Commission National Natural Science Foundation of China Grade A laboratory in the joint evaluation organized by the association; In the joint evaluation organized by the National Natural Science Foundation in 1999, it ranked 8th among 29 chemical laboratories; In 2004, in the joint evaluation organized by the National Natural Science Foundation, we won the first place in category B in the evaluation of chemical and chemical laboratories (ranking sixth in total). The laboratory attaches great importance to and extensively carries out academic exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad, and has hosted many domestic and international academic conferences, striving to improve the basic and applied research level of blending chemistry in China. At the same time, it has also cultivated a large number of excellent research talents, with 275 graduate students and doctoral students.
