State Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding and Connection Harbin Institute of Technology Rigid iron The professor is the director of the laboratory. The predecessor of the State Key Laboratory of Welding is the welding specialty of Harbin Institute of Technology, which was founded in 1952 and is the first welding specialty in China. In 1986, it was awarded the first batch of key disciplines in China. In 1989, it prepared to build a national key laboratory based on the welding discipline. In 1995, it passed the national acceptance and was officially opened to the public. In 2003, it passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The national key laboratory of modern welding production technology is the basic research and technology research center for welding applications in China, It has made outstanding achievements in solving the key technology of national defense engineering and national economic construction, and some of the achievements have been industrialized with remarkable results. December 12, 2009 State Key Laboratory of Modern Welding Production Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology And Shenzhen Ruiling Industrial Co., Ltd The jointly built "Digital Welding Laboratory" was established in Shenzhen Ruiling Industrial Co., Ltd. The Joint Laboratory will set up an international R&D team composed of enterprise R&D personnel, university professors and foreign experts, with a recent scale of about 60 people. Phase I is planned to invest 20 million yuan to build an arc welding power source innovation and application research base with an area of about 800 square meters, including digital welding equipment laboratory, automatic welding machine and welding robot laboratory, efficient special welding and welding process research laboratory and other sub laboratories. The second phase plan will expand the research base to 2000 square meters, and build an authoritative research institution in the international welding field. [7]

In recent years, the National Key Laboratory has undertaken 198 scientific research tasks with a total funding of nearly 100 million yuan, of which the vertical research funding accounts for about 50%, including hosting one national high-tech "863" key project, six general projects, two "973" sub projects, 18 general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 21 key national defense projects.
During this period, 9 national, provincial and ministerial level awards were awarded; A total of 899 journal papers were published, including 187 in international journals and 451 in important domestic journals; 117 papers were published at international conferences. Among the above papers, 269 were included in SCI, 408 in EI and 89 in ISTP; Write 6 monographs; It has obtained 47 invention patents and applied for more than 90 patents.
The automatic welding system of high-strength steel thin-walled shells, research on robot welding technology, research on welding technology of dissimilar materials and composite materials, welding and manufacturing of large vacuum vessels for space environment simulation, deformation control and welding of manned spacecraft return capsule and other projects have been commended by relevant ministries and commissions. The laboratory has 41 researchers, including 16 professors (14 doctoral supervisors), 16 associate professors and senior engineers, and 9 lecturers and engineers. This is a research team with a high knowledge structure, which combines old, middle-aged and young people, focuses on young people, is innovative, cooperative and pioneering (32 of them have doctoral degrees, accounting for 97% of young and middle-aged teachers).
As an advanced talent training base, the laboratory annually enrolls more than 50 undergraduates, more than 70 masters and more than 20 doctors. The laboratory actively expanded its opening to the outside world and maintained high-level academic exchanges and technical cooperation with some internationally renowned universities and scientific research institutions.
