Lingkun Island Beach
Around the 11th century BC, the Oujiang Estuary was still a bay. Oujiang River flows into the sea from the north and south branches, the north branch flows into the sea along the current Oujiang River channel, and the south branch flows down from the current Huanglong Mountain, and then flows into the sea from the south of Sailing Mountain and Toutuo Mountain. The geographical feature of "Ou living in the sea" is extremely remarkable, just as Guo Pu, a litterateur and geomantic scholar in the Jin Dynasty, wrote a note in "Ou living in the sea" in the "Mountain and Sea Classic, Haineinan Classic" that "Yongning County, that is, the East Ou, is in the Qihai Sea today.
Around the 5th century, influenced by climate, the sea level at the Oujiang River estuary dropped, the estuary silted up, and the Oujiang River plain gradually emerged. There were two islands named Dan Kun and Shuang Kun at the estuary of the Oujiang River. During the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty (1567-1572), the east side facing the sea silted up into two sandbanks, on which ancestors cultivated fields and planted crops. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), two sandbanks joined together and continued to expand eastward, forming thick, viscous and thin shallow beaches. In order to obtain land, reclaim tidal flats and wetlands, more and more people live in the village, named Lingkun. Lingkun Island continues to extend to the sea, which is a symbol of the endless development of Oujiang River estuary. [2]
