In August 1999, Qiuzhen College of Huzhou Normal University was established as a private independent college;[25]In September of the same year, the original Huzhou Financial Cadre Training School was officially recruited.[26]
In 2008, Qiuzhen College of Huzhou Normal University independently issued the graduation certificate of ordinary colleges and universities.
In 2011, Qiuzhen College of Huzhou Normal University passed the acceptance of bachelor's degree awarding right and was awardedBachelor degree conferring right。
In 2012, Qiuzhen College of Huzhou Normal University independently awarded the bachelor's degree certificate of ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities.
In July 2015, it was selected as a pilot undergraduate college for strengthening application-oriented construction in Zhejiang Province.[24]
In January 2021, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China agreed to change the Qiuzhen College of Huzhou Normal University into Huzhou University, a public ordinary university, and at the same time, the organizational system of Qiuzhen College of Huzhou Normal University was canceled;[11]In April of the same year, Huzhou University was officially inaugurated。[12]
In November 2022, the foundation laying ceremony of the new project of Huzhou University was held, marking the official commencement of the new project of Huzhou University.[33]
