Zhejiang Sports Vocational and Technical College is a provincial full-time vocational college characterized by competitive sports majors.
In September 2004, the school was established on the basis of the merger of Zhejiang College of Sports Technology for Workers, the Provincial Sports School and the Xiaoshan Sports Training Base of the Provincial Sports Bureau.In January 2006, the first and second provincial sports training teams and the provincial track and field management center in charge of the management of the training and competition of the provincial excellent sports teams were incorporated into the college under preparation.

In 1983, the former Zhejiang Provincial Sports Commission began to prepare for Zhejiang College of Sports Technology for Workers.
In 1985, with the approval of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang College of Sports Technology for Employees was officially established.

In 1980, Zhejiang Sports School was established with the approval of the provincial people's government.According to the requirements of sports training, the school system is from primary school to technical secondary school.
In 1993, it was named as "Provincial and Ministerial Key Secondary Specialized School" through the evaluation of the school running level of provincial technical secondary schools jointly conducted by the former Provincial Education Commission and the former Provincial Sports Commission.
In 1994, it was named "National Key Technical Secondary School" through the evaluation of the former National Education Commission.
In 1996, it was rated as the "National High level Reserve Talent Base" by the former State Sports Commission.
Zhejiang Provincial Sports Training Team No.1
In July 1953, the first sports training team of Zhejiang Province was established. It is a fully funded institution directly under the provincial sports bureau responsible for competitive sports training. It has successively set up swimming, gymnastics (including rhythmic gymnastics), skills (including trampoline), basketball, volleyball (including beach volleyball), table tennis, badminton, tennis, bicycle, women's football, women's hockey, goChess and Chinese chess.
Zhejiang Provincial Sports Training Team No. 2
In 1978, the second sports training team of Zhejiang Province was established. It is a fully funded institution directly under the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau (the original provincial sports commission), which is responsible for the training and management of excellent sports teams. It has successively set up shooting, rowing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, boxing, taekwondo, water skiing, judo, model airplane, weightlifting, martial arts, wrestling and other sports.
Zhejiang Provincial Track and Field Sports Management Center
In September 2000, Zhejiang Provincial Track and Field Sports Management Center, formerly known as Zhejiang Provincial Track and Field Office, was established as a fully funded institution.
In September 2003, the first team of the provincial track and field team was included in the Zhejiang Provincial Track and Field Sports Management Center;In November, moved to Hangzhou Xiaoshan Sports Training Base.[11]
Merger and reorganization
At the end of 2003, Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau proposed to the provincial government to establish Zhejiang Sports Vocational and Technical College.
In March 2004, the provincial government approved the establishment of Zhejiang Sports Vocational and Technical College;In August, Zhejiang Vocational and Technical College of Sports for Employees, Zhejiang Sports School and Xiaoshan Sports Training Base of Zhejiang Sports Bureau were merged to establish Zhejiang Vocational and Technical College of Sports (preparatory).
In 2005, after the 10th National Games, the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau once again incorporated three training units, namely, Zhejiang Sports Training Team 1, Zhejiang Sports Training Team 2 and Zhejiang Track and Field Sports Management Center, into the college.
In April 2006, the college welcomed and basically passed the official investigation and assessment of the establishment of the college by the expert group of the provincial college establishment review committee.
In July 2006, with the approval of the provincial government, Zhejiang Sports Vocational and Technical College was officially established.[11]
