Boeing entered China in 1972, and Boeing has successfully cooperated with China for 38 years. Boeing has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with Chinese airlines, the aviation industry, CAAC and the Chinese government. Boeing is committed to helping China develop a safe, efficient and profitable aviation system to adapt to the pace of China's economic development. The civil aviation industry is crucial to China's economic development. Boeing provides China with the best aircraft in the world.
Boeing's most important investment in China is personnel training, especially training and technical support in aviation safety, quality management, enterprise management and senior executives. Since 1993, Boeing has provided advanced vocational training for more than 37000 Chinese aviation professionals. The training courses include pilot skills, operations, manufacturing, maintenance engineering, regulations, air traffic management, senior management, airline management and marketing, quality assurance, finance and industrial engineering. Boeing provides these trainings free of charge, with emphasis on quality and safety. Boeing has played a leading role in the creation of the US China aviation cooperation project, which was jointly initiated by the US government and US aviation enterprises. Boeing and CAAC Cooperate with airlines to jointly promote the development of civil aviation in China. Boeing cooperates with three Chinese universities in the research and development of wireless communication technology. Boeing is recognized as the leader of the industry in supporting the bilateral trade between China and the United States, and is promoting the United States to agree to China's accession World Trade Organization It played an important role in this process and promoted the US Congress to agree to develop normal trade relations with China. Boeing will continue to be committed to the development of bilateral trade relations between China and the United States and promote its sustained growth. Boeing is a global enterprise and leader in the aerospace industry, as well as a partner in China's aviation industry. Boeing will continue to increase its business, investment and various commitments in China, expand industrial cooperation, commit itself to helping China build a safe and advanced civil aviation system, and strive to seek more cooperation opportunities.
Boeing is very happy to help Chinese companies develop technology, obtain certification, and join the global aviation and supplier network. China has an increasingly important responsibility in the world civil aviation manufacturing industry, and has participated in the manufacturing of all Boeing models, including the 737, 747, 767, 777 and the most innovative 787 Dreamliner. China manufactures horizontal stabilizers, vertical tail fins, rear tail sections, hatches, wings, harnesses and other components for the 737. Produce trailing edge ribs for the 747 and ailerons, spoilers and inner flaps for the 747-8. China also plays an important role in the manufacturing of the 787 Dreamliner, manufacturing rudder, wing body fairing panel, vertical tail leading edge and panel and other composite parts. Since the 1980s, Boeing has purchased aviation hardware worth more than 1.5 billion dollars from China. This number will more than double in the coming years. Today, more than 5700 Boeing aircraft flying around the world use parts and components made in China. The first modification center of the new 747-400 Boeing modified cargo aircraft project is located in China. Many parts and components of the modification project are produced in China, modified, tested and certified in China, and delivered from China. Boeing has a huge investment in China, and its procurement from China is much higher than any other company in the industry. In fact, Boeing is the largest overseas customer of China's aviation industry.

Early cooperation

The origin of Boeing and China can be traced back to 1916, the year when Boeing was born. At that time, the founder, Mr. William Boeing, hired Mr. Wang Zhu, who was born in Beijing, to design a new type of seaplane for the US Navy, the C-type aircraft. Wang Zhu had just graduated from the Armstrong Institute of Technology and Engineering in London and Boston in the United States Massachusetts Institute of Technology Major in aviation engineering. In 1935, China became the first country outside the United States to receive Boeing's on-site representative service. The first on-site representative sent to China was named Nemo Poncetti, serving the P-26 aircraft. On March 29, 1939, Pan American Airlines used Boeing 314 airliner to open the trans ocean route service from the United States to Hong Kong. North American Aviation Industry Corporation provided basic training aircraft for China in the 1930s. In the 1930s and 1940s, China also introduced some Douglas Dolphin DC-2 and DC-3 aircraft.

Civil cooperation

February 21, 1972 - This remarkable historical moment, the President of the United States Richard Nixon Air Force One Boeing 707 landed in the People's Republic of China, marking the arrival of a new era. In the same year, the Civil Aviation Administration of China ordered 10 Boeing 707 airliners, and China began to become one of the world's major airlines. After the normalization of China US relations in 1979 Deng Xiaoping He flew to Washington, the capital of the United States, for a state visit, and visited the Boeing 747 production line in Seattle. In the 1980s, Boeing received more purchase orders from China. In November 1993, President of China Jiang Zemin The visit to Boeing pointed out a new direction for Boeing's development in China, focusing on training, safety, expanding the scale of cooperation, and providing China with modern aircraft. In April 2006, President of China Hu Jintao In a speech to Boeing employees at the Boeing Everett Factory, he said: "The cooperation between China and Boeing can be regarded as a true portrayal of mutual benefit and win-win trade cooperation between China and the United States." Today, Boeing aircraft has become the main force of China's air passenger transport and cargo system. Serve the society.
As of June 2009, 736 (or 53%) of the 1383 civil aircraft operated by China were Boeing aircraft (including Boeing aircraft and McDonnell Douglas aircraft), 500 (or 36%) were Airbus aircraft, and 147 (or 11%) were aircraft produced by other manufacturers (Hong Kong and Macao are not included according to the CAAC's statistical method for Chinese aircraft fleet).
On April 1, 2015, Boeing disclosed that in 2014, Boeing delivered 155 aircraft to Chinese customers and obtained more than 400 aircraft orders. Both delivery and orders reached a record high.
Mao Yishan, senior vice president of sales in Northeast Asia of Boeing Civil Aircraft Group, said that the total number of orders and committed orders from China showed Chinese customers' confidence in Boeing products and services. In the future, Boeing will meet the needs of the Chinese market with record delivery.
Statistics show that among the 155 aircraft delivered by Boeing to Chinese customers in 2014, the new generation 737 aircraft accounted for the first place, with 119; The second is 777 aircraft, accounting for 26. Boeing expects that more than 120 737 aircraft will be delivered to CAAC in 2015.
According to Boeing's market outlook for the next 20 years, China will need 6020 new aircraft worth more than 870 billion dollars. Boeing said that this demand will make China the largest civil aircraft market for Boeing.

Comprehensive cooperation

Boeing 777
On September 1, 2003, Civil Aviation University of China In the library, Boeing China is providing the access ceremony of aviation professional website for Civil Aviation University of China, which makes Civil Aviation University of China the first university in the world to obtain the access to the website. Through this website, teachers and students of Civil Aviation University of China can view 21 kinds of maintenance documents and 6 kinds of flight documents. On the surface, this is just an ordinary access ceremony. In fact, we can understand it as an extension of Boeing's globalization strategy, As President Wang Jianmin of Boeing China said, "China has very good talents. We hope to improve the professional training level through the use of the website by students of Civil Aviation University of China, and bring the convenience provided by the website to future work, which has a significant impact on China's civil aviation industry and Boeing's global talent strategy." As the largest aerospace company in the world, New Globalization has been used as a synonym for civil aircraft by many people. At present, Boeing has 160000 employees in more than 70 countries around the world. Its main business bases are located in Puget Sound, Washington, Southern California, Wichita, Kansas, and St. Louis, Missouri, with users in 145 countries around the world. There are more than 14000 Boeing civil aircraft in active service worldwide, accounting for 75% of the global fleet. In China, as of June 2003, 433 of the 650 aircraft in operation (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), based on the number of aircraft, Boeing's market share in China is 67%. But just because a company has a recognized name and worldwide sales performance does not mean that it has achieved globalization. To survive, develop and thrive, we must become a global enterprise.
On July 17, 2018, Boeing established a new department "Boeing NeXt" within the company, which is mainly committed to cooperating with external companies, hoping to explore business opportunities in the rapidly developing automated flying car market. [15]

globalization

Philip Condit, Chairman and CEO of Boeing, said: "The trend of market globalization and competition globalization is irresistible. If we want to continue to create value and business opportunities, including employment opportunities for Boeing employees, we must achieve globalization. It is far from enough to produce excellent products, provide perfect services and open the market for products. Boeing must be part of the society we serve. In fact, if any large enterprise wants to succeed in the future, it must follow the path of globalization. " In addition to introducing the company's products and services to the market, globalization should also open the door to new technologies and listen to the suggestions of people of insight with different cultures, backgrounds and experiences.
Senior Vice President, International Relations, Boeing Thomas R. Pickering (Thomas Pickering) also has a deep understanding of this: "One of the benefits of globalization is that enterprises can better use their production capacity and resources around the world. Good advice is not the patent of a country or a person. If we want to do our best, we must recruit elite talents from all over the world, collect good suggestions and adopt advanced technologies, and apply them to our business, products and services. " The globalization strategy Boeing will be pursuing is distinguished from the past by the word "new". "Boeing used to be very centralized in management. Now it has begun to focus on globalization from aircraft parts. Previously, we mainly emphasized the globalization of sales and procurement. But since the company completed its corporate diversification strategy in 2000, the company is striving to become a global company, not only in sales and procurement, but also in talent, operation, research and development." President Wang Jianmin said. New measures In the past two years, Boeing has begun to seriously consider the globalization development strategy while committed to diversification.
Boeing MMA
Before that, its factories were almost all concentrated in Seattle An article in the Wall Street Journal also said, "Although the American aviation giant has been selling aircraft around the world for decades, it has always taken the money it earned back to the United States, rather than making international partners." In 1999, after the Boeing Board of Directors' trip to Europe, Kangdi realized that decisions made in other countries affected Boeing's market Tax structure and ability to do business there. For a company, the most dangerous thing is a pool of stagnant water. The goal of Boeing's transformation is to prepare for the 21st century. The transformation began with the acquisition of Rockwell and McDonnell Douglas, which enabled the company to gain greater strength and broader vision. Later, it successively merged other companies, including Preston Group, Jefferson Company, Continental Cartography Company, Hugo Aviation and Communications, and Australian Hawked Haveland Company. Boeing has gained the following benefits: sufficient talent reserves and capital reserves, and provided new opportunities for 16000 employees. One of the keys to implementing this global strategic expansion plan is to establish Boeing International Relations, which is led by Mr. Pickering. At that time, Kangdi said, "We clearly know that we must pay more attention to global operations." One of the main tasks of the international relations department is to form a leadership team of Boeing's new business countries or regions and a national strategy team. In the past, Boeing did not have a president who specifically represents the whole company in other countries. The "overseas" office is mainly a number of independent business departments, focusing on special businesses, such as sales or procurement. The business personnel also serve as Boeing's responsible personnel in the country. Now, they plan to lead Boeing's network of offices in 25 countries or regions by 2005, which is an important part of the globalization strategy Boeing is actively implementing. Boeing believes that globalization is localization, and only by becoming a part of the society it serves can it succeed in the future. Now, Boeing is trying to develop new investments and businesses around the world. For example, about 400 Russian engineers worked for Boeing in Moscow and contacted the design team in Seattle electronically. In Moscow, there are two engineering teams working in shifts every day. Due to the difference in time zones, they can work together with the design team in Seattle to establish an effective continuous work cycle. In this way, Boeing not only has the ability to provide engineering support anytime and anywhere, but also can make up for the shortage of aviation engineering and technical personnel. This arrangement has brought Boeing millions of dollars in revenue. At present, Boeing and its subsidiaries have about 5300 employees outside the United States, accounting for 3% of the total number of Boeing employees (174000). They are distributed in 61 countries and regions, including about 3000 in Australia and hundreds in the United Kingdom, Germany and Russia. Condi predicted that Boeing "will take significant business measures in other countries in the next five years". A new human resource approach is being explored. Paulina Benda, Strategic Director of International Relations? a) It was pointed out that "we are looking for an entry point that will help coordinate our globalization process, so that Boeing can coordinate and develop global resources on a common basis." At the same time, Joyce Tucker, vice president of Boeing's GlobalDiversity, and human resources experts from Boeing's global headquarters and business departments in Chicago, An extensive study has been initiated to understand the culture and laws of countries where Boeing has conducted or will conduct business. Tucker said, "The key is that we have cultivated a diverse and skilled workforce. In addition, we should also create an environment that supports cultural diversity within our work institutions, customers we serve, and the communities we live in." Tucker also said that this means that Boeing's operations should comply with U.S. laws, Local rules and practices should also be followed. Tucker believes that this requires Boeing to improve the way it selects American employees to be stationed around the world, so that such an opportunity can become a turning point for personal career take-off. In this way, employees can make better use of the increased experience to work after returning home. In order to stand out from the competition with Airbus and strengthen its influence in the process of globalization, Boeing launched the new 7E7 aircraft, and completely broke the convention from the initial concept, name, design, interior decoration and even materials. One of the innovative measures is to name the aircraft. The team led by the Marketing Department of Boeing Civil Aircraft Group brainstormed and solicited opinions from people inside and outside the company; Cooperate with AOL Time Warner to understand the opinions and needs of passengers through the Internet. Second, in addition to participating in aircraft naming activities, the public is also invited to participate in the "Global Design Team", in which people will have the opportunity to participate Boeing 7E7 Dreamliner The third part of the research and development work is to make more innovations in the interior of the aircraft. For the first time, the main structure of its 7E7 aircraft uses advanced composite materials instead of traditional aluminum materials. At present, more than 40 airlines around the world are discussing the Boeing 787 with Boeing. Like other Boeing aircraft, the Boeing 7E7 will also be the crystallization of joint participation and efforts of global partners and suppliers.

China strategy

As Boeing's strategic market, China is certainly one of the priorities of globalization. On 19 November 2002, Wang Jianmin Mr. Zhang was appointed President of Boeing China Co., Ltd. and became the 10th national and regional president appointed by Boeing in the last 12 months. Philip Conti, Chairman and CEO of Boeing, said that his new subordinate was not only familiar with Chinese culture, but also understood the business environment of the United States, which would help further enhance and enhance Boeing's partnership with China and expand business growth opportunities.
Boeing predicts that in the next 20 years, China's aviation market will need more than 1900 new aircraft, worth 165 billion dollars. China's air transport market will grow at a rate of 7.6 per year, making China the world's second largest civil aviation market after the United States. As a result, Boeing began to change its strategy in China and set foot in other broader fields besides civil aircraft. This is in line with Philip Conti, Chairman and CEO of Boeing, who said that the company should adjust in time. "From now on, Boeing Air Traffic Management Group, Boeing Link Company, Boeing Finance Company, etc. will introduce on the Boeing China website. At the same time, in order to cooperate with these business groups to expand their business in China, we are recruiting new personnel to serve these groups, so that they can have a deeper understanding of the needs and potential opportunities of the Chinese market. On the other hand It will also enable them to better trade and cooperate with Chinese partners. " President Wang Jianmin said. Speaking of the reasons for these changes, President Wang Jianmin believed that Boeing used to focus on civil aircraft business, and later began to acquire and merge other enterprises, making Boeing a world leading aerospace enterprise. Now, if Boeing wants to become a global enterprise, it needs to become a company with extensive and localized business resources in some important countries. I hope that 20 years later, when you think of Boeing, you will think of an international brand in China. I believe that we can certainly do it through our efforts.
On April 11, 2024, Guanghan Boeing signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Civil Aviation Flight Academy (CAAC) today. [134]

With the consent of the US Air Force, the company successfully developed the Boeing 707 civil airliner based on the KC-135 in 1957 and delivered it for use in 1958. The main types of Boeing 707 are 707-120, - 220, - 320, - 420 and - 020 (Boeing 720). CAAC has purchased 10 320Cs, which have also been converted into special aircraft. Boeing 707 received 1010 orders. The production line was closed in 1991 and the last military model was delivered in May 1992. (This model was discontinued in 1991)

Boeing 717

The Boeing 717 aircraft is specially designed for the short haul passenger transport market and is suitable for the growing regional aviation market. In appearance, it retains the characteristics of T-tail and rear mounted engine of McDonnell Douglas aircraft, inherits the characteristics of solid and durable McDonnell Douglas aircraft body, and makes great improvements in design to reduce costs and improve reliability. Interestingly, the Boeing 717 was launched after the launch of the Boeing 767. Before the launch of the Boeing 717, "Boeing 717" referred to the aerial tanker KC-135. (This model was discontinued in 2006)

Boeing 727

Boeing 727 is a medium and short range civil aircraft developed and produced by Boeing Company of the United States. It is the first three engine jetliner put into commercial operation in the world and the only three engine jetliner of Boeing. Before being replaced by Boeing 737, it was the most popular civil aviation aircraft in the world. (This model was discontinued in 1984)

Boeing 737

The Boeing 737 series aircraft is a double engine (engine) medium and short haul transport aircraft produced by Boeing Company. It is known as the most successful civil aviation airliner in the world aviation history and the largest aircraft family in the civil aviation industry. More than 7000 Boeing 737 series aircraft models have been delivered, more than the total delivery of Airbus. In the history of civil aviation, No other model has achieved such great success in terms of sales. The Boeing 737 aircraft began to be developed in May 1964 after obtaining 10 start-up orders from Lufthansa, Germany. The Boeing 707/727 nose and fuselage cross section were used. The prototype aircraft was tested in April 1967, and the airworthiness certificate was obtained in December. It was put into line operation in February 1968.
On March 12, 2024, United Airlines has asked Boeing to stop producing 737 MAX 10 aircraft for it and will switch to smaller models and Airbus A321 aircraft until Boeing 737 MAX 10 passes the long delayed certification. [107]
On March 15, 2024 local time, Boeing said that it would take one year to repair the engine problems of all its Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The repair time of nearly one year will be postponed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Flight fitness certification procedure for 737 MAX 7 and 737 MAX 10 passenger aircraft. [112]
In June 2024, it was reported that Boeing had informed its suppliers that the key production target of its 737 series aircraft would be postponed for three months because the company was still struggling with the quality crisis that affected the output. [172]

Boeing 747

Boeing 747 is a four engine long range wide body transport aircraft produced by Boeing Company. It is a wide body airliner that has been successfully developed and sold. The development began in August 1965, the prototype flew in February 1969, and the first 747 was delivered to Pan American Airlines in January 1970, opening a new era of wide body airliner service. On November 14, 2005, Boeing announced that it would develop the 747-8. The cockpit and engine technologies are the same as those of the Boeing 787, and the name of the 747-8 also has the word "8" because it uses the technology of the Boeing 787. Boeing claims that the design of the new aircraft will be quieter, more environmentally friendly and more fuel efficient than before. The fuselage of the 747-8 has been extended from 232 feet (70.8 meters) to 250.8 feet (76.4 meters), which means that the passenger capacity will increase accordingly and it will replace the A340-600 as the longest aircraft in the world. The Boeing 747-8 passenger plane model is 747-8 (Intercontinental), which has a capacity of 467 passengers in the third class cabin, a range of more than 8000 nautical miles (15000 km), and a cruising speed of 0.855 Mach. The 747-8 is a derivative model of the 747-400, so the time required for pilots to convert models is reduced, and some parts of the aircraft can be shared. The Boeing 747-8 went into service in 2011.
(On August 30, 2016 US time, Joe Sartre, the "father of 747", died at the age of 95. The official website of Boeing printed 1921-2016 and updated the homepage to honor the great father of 747.)
On the evening of December 6, 2022 local time, the last Boeing 747-8F cargo plane was finally assembled at the Boeing Everett factory in Seattle, the United States, which is also the last 747 aircraft manufactured by Boeing for more than 50 years. The production serial number of the last Boeing 747 is 67150, and the final registration number is N863GT. [51]
On March 25, 2024, Korean Asiana Airlines said that the last Boeing airliner "B747-400" in South Korea arrived at Incheon International Airport on March 25, and officially retired after completing the last flight mission. [123]

Boeing 757

Boeing 757 is a twin engine (engine) narrow body medium and long distance transport aircraft produced by Boeing Company. It was developed in March 1979. It is interchangeable with the Boeing 767 developed in the same period in terms of design, manufacturing and operation. In February 1982, the first Boeing 757 flew for the first time. In December of the same year, it obtained the airworthiness certificate and was put into line operation. In December 1986, it was approved for double engine extended flight. (This model was discontinued in 2005)

Boeing 767

Boeing 767 is a double engine (engine) half wide body medium and long distance transport aircraft produced by Boeing Company. It is mainly used to compete for the market formed by the retirement of Boeing 707, DC-8, Boeing 727 and other 200 seat medium and long range airliners in the 1980s. In 1972, a plan was proposed to cooperate with Italy and Japan to produce a three engine long range aircraft, initially named 7X7, but the plan was not realized. Later, after scheme demonstration and market research, Boeing announced the launch of the Boeing 767 development plan in February 1978. In July of the same year, after receiving the confirmed order of 30 767s from United Airlines, the company began comprehensive design and development work, United Airlines representatives participated in the whole design process to better meet user requirements.

Boeing 777

Boeing 777 is the largest twin engine wide body passenger aircraft developed and produced by Boeing Company of the United States. The research and development plan was officially launched on October 29, 1990, and was initially named 767-X. On June 12, 1994, the first Boeing 777 made its first test flight. On April 19, 1995, it obtained the European Joint Airworthiness Certificate and the Federal Aviation Administration type certificate. On May 30, 1995, it was approved to fly for 180 minutes with two engine extensions. On May 17, 1995, the first Boeing 777 was delivered to the user United Airlines. It has the characteristics of flexible cockpit layout, wide range of flight range and different models can meet the changing market demand.
In November 2023, Emirates signed a purchase contract with Boeing, an American passenger aircraft manufacturer, to purchase new aircraft from Boeing 55 racks 777-9, 35 racks 777-8 [67]

Boeing 787

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a medium-sized twin engine (engine) wide body medium and long-distance transport aircraft developed and produced by the Boeing Civil Aircraft Group. It was originally named 7E7. It is the first brand new aircraft launched by the Boeing Company 14 years after the Boeing 777 Program was launched in 1990. At present, its new model is still in the assembly stage. The Boeing 787 series is a 200 seat to 300 seat aircraft with a range of 6500 to 16000 kilometers depending on the specific model. Boeing emphasizes that the 787 is characterized by a large number of composite materials, low fuel consumption, high cruise speed, high efficiency and comfortable cabin environment, which can realize more point-to-point non-stop direct flights. In April 2004, the project was officially launched with ANA's confirmation of ordering 50 Boeing 787 aircraft. After several delays, it successfully flew on December 15, 2009 US time. On January 17, 2013, the Federal Space Administration announced that the United States temporarily grounded all Boeing 787 "Dream" aircraft due to successive safety accidents. Now the Chief Engineer has announced that all 787s have been repaired and have returned to the blue sky.
In November 2023, Emirates signed a purchase contract with Boeing, an American passenger aircraft manufacturer, to purchase new aircraft from Boeing 5 787 Dreamliners [67]

firmware problem

Boeing
As early as September 2008, Boeing found that the fasteners installed on the Boeing 777 aircraft did not meet the safety standards of the Federal Aviation Administration. A month later, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States launched a relevant investigation and asked Boeing to reply within 20 working days. Although Boeing has submitted rectification plans for many times later, they have not really been implemented. It was not until November 2010 that Boeing completely solved the fastener problem, which had been more than two years since it was first found. Anthony Fox, the US Secretary of Transportation, said in the statement that ensuring safety is a top priority, and once the aircraft manufacturer finds safety problems, it must promptly and thoroughly take measures to correct them. The statement also said that Boeing has 30 days to respond to the punishment decision.

Boeing 787 accident

According to foreign media reports on the 20th, Boeing is facing increasing pressure. Customers have asked for cash compensation for the losses caused by the 787 Dreamliner, which was grounded due to battery fire.
Anonymous insiders revealed that Japan All Nippon Airways, the largest customer of the 787, asked Boeing to make cash compensation instead of future purchase discounts to compensate for the losses caused by the flight ban since mid January. A senior Indian government source also revealed that the state-owned Indian Airlines would take the same position and request a direct cash refund. Previously, several airlines, including Qatar Airways and Polish Airlines, filed claims against Boeing.
All 50 Boeing 787 Dreamliners put into operation around the world in the second half of 2011 were grounded by the regulatory authorities due to two battery failures in the United States and Japan. Following the grounding of Japan and the United States, the European Aviation Safety Agency and Air India followed suit and announced the temporary grounding of Boeing 787.
On July 26, 2013, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a statement saying that because Boeing had taken two years to correct the fastener problems of the Boeing 777 aircraft and violated the relevant safety regulations, it was proposed to impose a fine of 2.75 million dollars on the company.
It is unusual for the FAA to impose a heavy penalty nearly three years after Boeing corrected the above problem. Perhaps, it implies that the FAA will take a tougher position in implementing safety standards. Since 2013, the Boeing 787 has suffered several safety accidents in succession. Under the dual pressure of high fuel prices and the arduous goal of energy conservation and emission reduction, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as "COMAC") and Boeing began to work together to develop bio aviation fuel.
COMAC and Boeing launched the "COMAC Boeing Aviation Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Technology Center" in Beijing. Both sides announced that the center's first research project is to refine waste edible oil (commonly known as "gutter oil") into aviation biofuel. The total investment of the center is expected to be 2.5 billion yuan, and the two parties will contribute in a ratio of 1:1. The related manpower and material resources will be borne by both parties in half.
As the main body of implementing the national large aircraft project, COMAC is manufacturing C919 large aircraft and ARJ21 new regional aircraft, forming a frontal confrontation with Boeing. This time, the two sides jointly developed bio aviation oil with "gutter oil" as the raw material, which is their first cooperation in the commercial field.

It is understood that the biggest difficulty in the trial of this case is to find out the truth of the incident.
Zhang Qihuai, attorney for the family members of passengers on flight MH370: At this hearing, we put forward that the defendant is the responsible party, and the defendant is the responsible party, so he has the obligation to prove that he is not responsible. On June 26, 2024, a whistleblower charged that the manufacturing process of some parts of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner was unsafe, which could lead to "devastating consequences".
Richard Cuevas, the mechanic of Strom, the contractor of Spirit AeroSystems, the main supplier of Boeing, claimed that in 2023, he witnessed that in the factory of Spirit AeroSystems located in Wichita, Kansas, the front pressure bulkhead of the 787 aircraft was drilled substandardly. Bulkhead is one of the main parts of the aircraft body, which is used to maintain the pressure in the cabin and is essential to maintain the structural integrity of the aircraft in the air.
According to the petition submitted by Cuevas' lawyer, he complained to Boeing and Sinovel about the "unqualified manufacturing and maintenance process" he witnessed in October 2023, and he was dismissed a few months later.
Boeing said that it had previously investigated Cuevas' allegations, which did not constitute a security issue.
The company said in a statement, "An employee of a subcontractor has reported their concerns to us before, we will thoroughly investigate, and we will seriously treat any safety related problems. Subsequent engineering analysis determined that the problems raised by the employee did not constitute a safety hazard, and they were resolved."
Boeing also said that it was reviewing the latest documents released by Cuevas' lawyers on Wednesday and would investigate any new allegations.
Up to now, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched several investigations on Boeing. A few days ago, the US Department of Justice also said that because the company continued to have quality and safety problems, it may file criminal proceedings against the company.
The FAA said in a statement that they "strongly encourage anyone with security concerns to report, and we will thoroughly investigate each report." The bureau said that 126 reports of Boeing whistleblowers had been reviewed this year, compared with 11 last year.
Cuevas said that the irregular holes he observed on the pressure bulkhead in front of the aircraft may lead to "disaster", which may affect the power and air pressure of the aircraft and bring serious safety risks to passengers on board.
Cuevas also said that he witnessed these problems on the three aircraft he participated in the design, and he believed that these problems might affect at least 10 to 12 aircraft being produced or delivered to Boeing. [182]
