Hebei Fucheng Middle School was founded in 1952. The former site is located in the old city and was initially named Fucheng County Primary Normal School.
In 1955, it was renamed Fucheng Middle School.
In 1961, it moved to Fudong Road and changed its name to "May 7th" University during the Cultural Revolution.
In 1978, it was one of the first provincial key high schools.
In 2005, it was promoted to provincial model high school.[2]
