In 1951, Hebei ProvinceZhengding CountyThe Ministry of Finance and Economics of Hebei Construction University was established, and later renamed Hebei Agricultural Mechanization School.
In 1956, Shijiazhuang Highway Engineering School of the Ministry of Communications was established, and later renamed Hebei Jiaotong University.
On June 23, 1956,BaodingHebei Baoding Crash Normal College was established.Its name was changed several times from 1956 to 1965.
Period of Chemical Engineering College
On November 26, 1964, with the approval of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and the Hebei Provincial People's Committee, Hebei Gongdu Normal University was founded on the basis of Hebei Shijiazhuang Industrial School. Guo Moruo inscribed the name of "Hebei Gongdu Normal University".
In 1965, Hebei Baoding Crash Normal College merged with Hebei Gongdu Normal College to establish Hebei Teachers' Training College.
In August 1965, Hebei Gongdu Normal University enrolled its first freshmen.
On October 6, 1965, Hebei Teachers' Training College was incorporated into Hebei Gongdu Normal College, whose name is still Hebei Gongdu Normal College.
In October 1970, Hebei Gongdu Normal University was renamed as Hebei Institute of Chemical Technology.
On November 7, 1987, Hebei Institute of Chemical Technology was renamed as Hebei Institute of Light Chemical Industry.It undertakes the task of training advanced technical talents and scientific researchers in chemical industry, light industry and textile industry for the country.[6-7]
In August 1949, Taihang Industrial School was renamed North China Military Vocational School.
On September 15, 1949, the Second Junior Division of North China Military Vocational SchoolHebeiJianping County(TodayPingshan County）Establishment.Since then, the school has changed its name several times.
In September 1958, it was renamed as Shijiazhuang Motor Manufacturing School. On November 10, the first batch of technical secondary school students entered the school.
Period of Mechanical and Electrical College
On March 16, 1959, the First Machinery Department decided to merge Shenyang Motor Manufacturing School into Shijiazhuang Motor Manufacturing School.
In October 1969, the school was put under the leadership of Hebei Province.
On November 29, 1971, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial Revolutionary Committee, Hebei Electromechanical College was established on the basis of Shijiazhuang Electrical Machinery Manufacturing School.
On August 3, 1977,the state councilThe establishment of Hebei Mechanical and Electrical College was approved.
In March 1978, the first undergraduate (Grade 77) enrolled.
In July 1980, the personnel and materials from the Handan Preparatory Office of Hebei University of Technology were merged into Hebei Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Hebei Textile Workers' University
In 1980, with the approval of the provincial government and the record of the Ministry of Education, Shijiazhuang Textile Industry Staff University was established under the leadership of the Municipal Textile Bureau.
In 1983, the university was under the leadership of the provincial textile corporation and renamed as Hebei Shijiazhuang Textile Workers' University.
In 1987, the school was renamed Hebei Textile Workers' University.
Hebei Textile Industry School
In 1912, Zhili Class A Industrial School was established, located in Baoding, Hebei Province.Since then, the school changed its name nine times.
In 1937,Counter-Japanese WarOutbreak, school moved toShaanxi ProvinceZhouzhi County.After the victory of the Anti Japanese War,Tianjin、BaodingAlumni from other places launched donation activities to restore the school, and in 1946, the school officially resumed enrollment in Tianjin Fazheng Bridge.
In 1978, it was renamed Hebei Textile Industry School.
Merging to build a school
In May 1996, Hebei Institute of Light Chemical Industry and Hebei Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering were merged to form Hebei University of Science and Technology, and Hebei Textile Workers' University was merged in the same year.
In 2002, Hebei Textile Industry School was incorporated into Hebei University of Science and Technology.
In 2003, the People's Police College was separated from Hebei University of Science and Technology and Hebei Police Vocational College was established.
In October 2013, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Hebei Province jointly established Hebei University of Science and Technology, and the university became a provincial and ministerial university.[11]
In December 2014, with the approval of the People's Government of Hebei Province, Tangshan Branch of Hebei University of Science and Technology was substantially incorporated into Tangshan University.[12]
On July 13, 2022,Department of Education of Hebei ProvinceThe website recently announced that it plans to build a provincial innovation and entrepreneurship college in Hebei University of Science and Technology.[56]
On April 7, 2024, the Education Development Foundation of Hebei University of Science and Technology was officially established.[63]

In November 2013, as a key technology research unit, the university, together with Xi'an Jiaotong University and Harbin Institute of Technology, applied for the project of "Development and Application of Automatic Filament Laying Head Equipment for Aerospace Composite Components", which was included in the national key science and technology special project of "high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment".The project of "breeding new varieties of aphid resistant transgenic wheat" presided over by Professor Wei Jingfang won the support of the national major special project for breeding new varieties of genetically modified organisms in 2009, and the project of "research and development of atypical antipsychotic drug eperenone" presided over by Professor Shang Zhenhua won support as a major sub project of new drug innovation technology in 2011,The project of "screening and transformation of new salt tolerant genes in rice and breeding of new transgenic varieties" presided over by Professor Wei Jingfang won major special funding for breeding technology of new transgenic varieties in 2012.[36]

"Look at the mountain and hit the water" against the stone"Looking at the Mountain" is taken from "Watching the Mountain" by Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. "It will be the peak of the mountain and the small mountains"."Hitting the water" is taken from Chuang Tzu's "Carefree Tour", "The roc migrates to the south of the nether world, hitting three thousand li with water, and rising up to ninety thousand li"."Looking at the mountain" means reading extensively, and "hitting the water" means paying attention to practice.
