On September 1, 2008, the Tongjiu Railway opened passenger trains, which will enable Chizhou, the last city in the province that does not have passenger trains, to have a "steel artery", and the "rail economy" is quietly waving to Chizhou[5]。
The "four electricity" reconstruction project of Chizhou Station will be completed on October 8, 2022, and the erection of the first group of OCS poles will be completed on November 6, 2022.On December 13, 2022, with the successful completion of the erection of six catenaries and the smooth power transmission of six catenaries in Chizhou Station, the construction of Chizhou Huanghua High speed Railway into Chizhou Station has achieved phased results.
The existing Chizhou Station is the intermediate station of Ning'an Intercity Railway, which is arranged according to Ning'an Yard and Tongjiuchang Yard.The upstream line of Chihuang High speed Railway crosses the existing Tongjiu Railway, and the existing Ning'an Intercity Railway is led into Chizhou Station. There are 3 existing lines, which are led out by the branch line in the comprehensive work area and connected with the existing 3 lines;The down line of Chihuang High speed Railway crosses the existing Tongjiu Railway, leading into the existing 7 tracks at Ning'an Yard of Chizhou Station, reconstructing the existing 219 # turnout at Tongling end, and laying a new 213 # turnout to connect 6 tracks, which serve as the arrival departure track shared by Ning'an Intercity Railway and Chihuang High speed Railway.[7]
On December 20, 2022, Chizhou Station of Chizhou Huanghua High speed Railway will be reconstructed。[8]
On December 19, 2023, the catenary reconstruction project of Chizhou Station of Chi Huang High speed Railway was completed, marking the end of the reconstruction of Chizhou Station of Chi Huang High speed Railway.[10]
On April 26, 2024, Chihuang High speed Railway was officially put into operation.[11]

The architectural style of the station building of Chizhou Railway Station is mainly modern, fully integrating the local architectural features of Chizhou, with a length of 164 meters, a width of 52 meters, and a local height of 20 meters.It is designed as a flat line station building, and the waiting hall, station office area, and ticket hall are distributed.The middle part is a two storey waiting hall, the station hall is located in the basement on the east side, and the upper part is the station office area;It is worth mentioning that Chizhou Station can allow the bus to enter the waiting room, which is convenient for passengers to get on and off.The basement on the west side is the luggage warehouse, and the upper part is the ticket hall.The attached buildings on the east and west sides are respectively the public security office area and the VIP waiting room.The construction area of the station building is 9523.12 square meters, with a total investment of 74 million yuan.In 2010, in order to cooperate with Ning'an Intercity Railway[4]For the need of construction, Chizhou Station has been expanded, and the column free canopy covering Ning'an Station has been started. The ordinary speed field is a column canopy, and Chizhou Station is one of the three mixed column canopy stations in Anhui Province.
The ticket office of Chizhou Station is located on the right side of the station, with more than 10 automatic ticket machines and 4 manual ticket windows.The lower floor of the station is for taxi parking.Chizhou has two waiting rooms, and the waiting room on the first floor is used for trains stopping at platform 1.The waiting room on the second floor is used for trains stopping at platforms 2-7.Due to the early design, there is no elevator on the platform. Please pay attention to passengers carrying large items.

From September 1, 2008, the Shanghai Tongling T776/777 T778/775 express train was extended to Chizhou Station for arrival and departure, then shortened to run between Nanjing West Station and Chizhou Station from July 1, 2010, and finally stopped on March 19, 2013.On the same day, the Hangzhou Tongling 5122/5123 5124/5121 express train was extended to Chizhou Station, and then upgraded to K8522/8523 K8524/8521 express passenger train on April 26, 2010, and finally stopped on December 21, 2012.
From September 1, 2008, an additional pair of Nanchang Ningbo 2532/2533 2534/2531 express passenger trains were opened, and then upgraded to K1218/1219 K1220/1217 express passenger trains on July 1, 2012;An additional pair of Nanchang Nanjing K506/505 express passenger trains were opened, and then extended to Suzhou Station on July 1, 2013 for arrival and departure. The train number was changed to K1326/1327 and K1328/1325.
From September 8, 2008, an additional pair of fast passenger trains from Wuchang to Nanjing K345/348 K347/346 were opened, but they were suspended on March 25, 2009 after only half a year of operation, so they were nicknamed "the shortest life fast train in history".
From April 1, 2009, a pair of Fuyang Chizhou 5153/4 express passenger trains were opened, and then upgraded to K8553/8554 express passenger trains on April 26, 2010;A pair of Wuhu Chizhou 5155/5156 express passenger trains was upgraded to K8551/8552 express passenger trains on April 26, 2010, and 0.5 pairs of Nanjing Nanning K1191 express passenger trains.
From July 1, 2009, 0.5 pairs of Nanning Nanjing K1192 express passenger trains will be opened.
From March 12, 2010, Wenzhou Chizhou K8538/8539 K8540/8537 express train was added, which was temporarily suspended from January 11, 2011, resumed operation from May 9, 2011, temporarily suspended again from July 1, 2011, deleted from the train diagram after July 1, 2012, and officially suspended.
From March 19, 2013 until otherwise notified, one additional pair of Shanghai Chizhou T7606/7607 T7608/7605 temporary express trains will be opened.The original T7777/T7778 was officially shut down.
From July 1, 2013, an additional pair of Yantai Jiujiang K878/875 K876/877 express trains will be opened.On December 28, an additional pair of Xuzhou Zhanjiang K161/162 fast trains was opened, and then on July 1, 2014, it was changed to run between Xuzhou and Nanning, and it was changed to run through Beijing Shanghai, Ningbo Copper, Tongjiu, Beijing Jiulong, Jiheng, Hengliu and Hunan Guangxi lines.

After the adjustment of the train diagram on July 1, 2015, Chizhou Station added two pairs of trains, namely, Xuzhou Guangzhou K676/677 K675/678 and Nanning Shanghai K1558/1555 K1556/1557.On December 6, Ning'an High speed Railway was officially opened to traffic, and Chizhou Station began to enter the era of high-speed railway.
On January 10, 2016, after the adjustment of the train diagram, Tongling Station added one pair of EMUs in the direction of Nanjing South Station, four pairs of EMUs in the direction of Shanghai Hongqiao Station, and one pair in the direction of Beijing South Station. The total number of trains reached 27.5 pairs.There are 10 pairs of multiple units from Chizhou Station to Nanjing South Station, 4 pairs of multiple units from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, 1 pair from Beijing South Station and 8 pairs from Hefei South Station.At the same time, three pairs of trains were stopped from Shanghai to T7606/7607 T7608/7605, from Wuhu to Chizhou K8551/8552, and from Fuyang to Chizhou K8553/8554.
From June 20, 2020, Chizhou Station will implement electronic ticket.After the adjustment of the running chart on July 1, two new high-speed trains directly to Hangzhou and Ningbo were added, namely, 0.5 pairs of Ningbo Anqing G7402/3 times, 0.5 pairs of Anqing Hangzhou East G7404/1 times, and 1 pair of Hangzhou East Anqing G7406/7 G7408/5 times.
