From March 1 to August 31, 2017, in view of the need for maintenance of the memorial building and internal equipment, construction was approved.To ensure safety, the memorial hall is closed to the public during construction.[8]
On February 24, 2022, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall announced that due to annual equipment maintenance and overhaul, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall will temporarily be held from March 1 to 20Closed to the outside world.[12]
