November 8, 1779: An Yongda bursts into flames.
January 12, 1914: Dazheng erupted a fire, and a large amount of magma poured into and filled the eastern strait, making Sakura Island, which was originally an isolated island, connected with Dayu Peninsula from then on.The eruption killed 58 people.
June 7, 2006: Nanyue erupted a column of volcanic ash gas as high as 1 km, causing no casualties.
April 9, 2009: The plume of smoke was up to 4 kilometers high, and a large amount of volcanic ash spread to Kagoshima City.
On December 9, 2011, the Zhaohe crater (about 800 meters above sea level) on the east side erupted. According to the data of the local volcanic observatory, this is the 897th eruption of Yingdao volcano, making it the highest annual eruption for the third consecutive year.In September of the same year, Yingdao volcano once set a record of 141 eruptions in a single month.
On August 18, 2013, an explosive eruption of smoke and dust up to 5000 meters occurred in the Zhaohe crater, the highest in the history of observation.
On the morning of May 21, 2015, a violent volcanic eruption occurred on Sakura Island.The ash cloud from the Zhaohe crater drifted southward from the sky over Kagoshima Bay, and then spread eastward across the Dayu Peninsula.[1]
In January 2022, the volcano on the top of Nanyue Mountain in Sakurajima, Japan, erupted, with the ash height of 3400m.[2]
In the afternoon of February 9, 2023, the volcano crater at the top of Nanyue Mountain, Sakurashima, located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, erupted, and the volcanic smoke rose from the crater to about 2000 meters in the air.With the eruption of the volcano, a large number of volcanic rubble flew 600 to 900 meters away from the crater.[4]

At about 6:33 p.m. local time on February 14, 2024, the crater at the top of Nanyue Mountain, Sakurashima, located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, "erupted explosively".The height of the ash column reached 5000 meters, the first time since August 2020.[6]
