During the Xia, Shang and Western Zhou Dynasties, Qiaoxi District was located at the junction of the agricultural regime in the Central Plains and the nomadic peoples in the north.
During the Spring and Autumn Period, the territory of Qiaoxi District successively belonged to Donghu, Yan and Zhao.
During the Warring States Period, Zhao Xiangzi destroyed the dynasty and built the northern military fortress "Infinite Gate" (now Zhangbei). Qiaoxi District is located at the junction of Zhao, Yan, Xiongnu and Donghu. In the 29th year of the reign of King Yanzhao (283 BC), King Yanzhao sent a senior general Qin Kai to attack Donghu, set up a thousand miles of land, set up Shanggu County, and ruled in Ning (near Yanqing today). Qiaoxi District belongs to Yanshanggu County.

Dajingmen Scenic Area , located in Qiaoxi District, Zhangjiakou City, is a national AAAA tourist attraction. Dajing Gate, built in 1644, the first year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, has a history of more than 300 years. It is a brick arch with a stone foundation. The gate wall is 12 meters high, the bottom is 13 meters long, and the depth is 9 meters. There are two wooden and iron gates. The top is a platform, 12 meters long and 7.5 meters wide. There is a 1.7 meter high pier outside and a 0.8 meter high parapet inside. [17]
