The main research directions of the laboratory are: radioactive beam physics, hadron physics, advanced particle accelerator technology, and nuclear technology applications. These four directions are the mainstream directions of nuclear physics and nuclear technology, and are also the dominant disciplines of Peking University formed through long-term construction. They are closely related to each other and have formed an organic whole over the years. The three disciplines supported by the laboratory, namely, "particle physics and nuclear physics", "nuclear technology and applications" and "theoretical physics", all have master's degree programs, doctor's degree programs and Postdoctoral mobile station
