Lin Zhengsheng often integrates Taiwanese daily life experience and historical memory into movies, showing concern for people living at the bottom of society. His video works have a strong humanitarian spirit. The main scene space is Taipei urban space. Through an objective and calm long lens, he shows the collision between industry and agriculture, the integration and confrontation between urban and rural areas in a society with deepening urban modernization process, when transforming from a traditional society to a modern society,The relationship between people and between people and cities. The unique image style conveys the director's observation and thinking of reality.Although a series of his works adhere to the aesthetic principles of new films, such as non professional actors, autobiographical color, and taking family as the narrative axis, and explore the family problems dominated by traditional patriarchy through the conflict between personal growth and external repression, the oppression and torture brought by ethics make the interpersonal relationship in his films in a cold and alienated state, thus making the film show a desolate tone,However, the interpersonal relationships in his films cannot be as faithful to the power of family ethics as Yang Dechang and Hou Xiaoxian[16-17](Liang Chen, Shandong Normal University)。
