At the end of 1952, it was separated from Rangtang District and incorporated Tumu (now Lefeng), Jingxin (Sanlian) and Bibo (Muzhen) of Geyi District into 12 districts (Yangliu District).
In 1958, Kedu and Shuanghe communes were built separately.
