Eduard Adolf Strasburger (1844-1912) was a German botanist and cytologist. He has successively served as professor of Jena University, director of Botanical Garden and professor of Bonn University. In 1875, he published On Cell Structure and Cell Division, which was described for the first time plant cell The indirect splitting process. From 1884 to 1885, it was simultaneously confirmed by other scholars that the number of chromosomes divided longitudinally and doubled during cell division. The names of cytoplasm and nucleoplasm were put forward to confirm that nucleus is the basis of heredity. [1]
