Before the Han people settled down, this area was inhabited by Pingpu aborigines and belonged to the Gaha Wu nationality“ Piaozai hedge ”Community residence. According to records, in the 13th year of Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1833), Du Xingxiu, a Cantonese, led 50 strong men to reach this district through Dadun, Sanzhai City, and Dakeng (all within Taichung City), which was the beginning of the arrival of Han people to Xinshe. Since most of the migration at that time was from Guangdong, now Xinshe Community is the second largest Hakka settlement in Taichung City, second only to Dongshi District. In the Jiaqing period, when the aborigines moved to various places under the jurisdiction of Xinshe, Han people soon came to do business with them and called the local aboriginal settlement“ Xinfan News Agency ”(referred to as "Xinshe" for short), which is the origin of Xinshe place names.
In the last years of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, Dai Wansheng and others in Changhua responded to the "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom" uprising and launched a revolution in Taiwan. The whole Taiwan was in chaos. Coastal residents took refuge in the mountains, moved to their hometown in large numbers for cultivation, and settled with the indigenous people. As a result, Xinshe gradually developed.
After the civil commotion subsided, Changhua County The government sent troops to Dongshijiao to set up a government, and the news agency Dongshangbao New communities , the beginning of the governance of Xinshe.
