Overview of scientific research
According to the official website of the university in April 2015, the university's research strength in engineering, life sciences and biomedicine, social sciences and natural sciences is widely recognized;In 2013, the school had more than 2400 active research personnel, nearly 8000 papers published in international journals, external research funds of more than 589 million dollars, more than 2200 national projects, 51519 intellectual property rights such as authorized invention patents and utility model patents, 341 of which were published in international journals.[17]

Centennial school anniversary
The University celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2005 and 2006. From June 2005, the University launched a 12 month celebration to commemorate the important milestone of the University as a Singapore college.[34]
